CONSTRUCTION IGT REPORT PROVIDES SPRINGBOARD FOR ACTION
In welcoming the report launched today by the government’s Low Carbon Innovation and Growth Team, the Construction Products Association Chief Executive Michael Ankers said that it provides a springboard for action for delivering a low carbon built environment in this country. Commenting on the report Ankers said: “The report sets out a very exciting agenda for the construction industry, but it makes clear that without decisive leadership and co-operation between different parts of the industry, and between industry and government, we will not achieve the benefits for the construction industry and the wider UK economy. The biggest challenge undoubtedly lies in making our existing buildings more energy efficient. Whilst energy efficiency products and solutions have been available for some time, there is still a need for the consumer to understand and grasp the opportunities to considerably improve the carbon performance of their homes”.
