Balcony Systems supplied and installed 78 Juliette balconies for a new development in Cambridgeshire. The architect specified Balcony’s Juliettes because he wanted to make sure each townhouse enjoys clear views of the river and benefits from maximum light coming into the room. Balcony’s Juliettes were also chosen because their stylish looks enhance the attractiveness of the three and four bedroom properties. A Balcony Registered Installer carried out the installation of all 78 balconies.

ROTO USES PSYCHOLOGY TO DESIGN NEW HANDLE

Roto has used a leading German institute specialising in market psychology in order to design customer appeal into its latest window handle. The hardware manufacturer commissioned a study by the Institute of Market Psychology in Mannheim, the aim of which was to discover what makes consumers choose one handle over another. The study found definite preferences in the look and feel of handles, with ergonomics being just as important as appearance. Colour coordination and security were also prime concerns.

Use of latest sustainable building solutions from Glidevale is helping a Manchester housing association simultaneously improve the living conditions and environment for elderly tenants. Northwards Housing is undertaking a £1/2m upgrading and refurbishment of Harry Piggot Court, a 1980’s two-storey development of 30 x one-bedroom apartments, with a brief to bring the homes up to, and above, Decent Homes standards. The 15 flats on the second floor now all feature Glidevale’s Sunscoop iPSV combined rooflight and natural ventilation system in the bathrooms.
