NZFWDA invited to address Auckland Conservation Board meeting

The Auckland Conservation Board have invited the NZFWDA to "to talk to the Board about access issues and answer any questions" at their 5 November meeting in Warkworth.

The Warkworth Area Manager, Tim Brandenburg, will be reporting to the Board about the off road vehicle project on Muriwai Te One One Rangatira Beach.

Peter Vahry and Tony Burgess will be attending, with Simon Bishop also planning to try to be there.
Full Throttle at Manukau City

Labour weekend sees a gathering of motoring recreations at the Telstra Events Centre to mark the start of the 2009 Dunlop Targa Rally. This is a 'free public entry' display with demonstrations by motoring clubs.

Hot Rods, Targa cars, drifters, sprint cars, etc, they will all be there at various times. 4x4 will be in action on the Sunday and Monday between 10 am and 4 pm, with static displays and performing on  specially built tracks. For updates on Full Throttle check http://www.nzfwda.org.nz/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=213
Join us there and show off your 4x4 (and if it gets dirty, we will have wash facilities).

To register email access@nzfwda.org.nz

It would be great to get participation from the Auckland region clubs and beyond.

Ever thought of going to Moab?

US-House-subcommittee-to-consider-banning-riding-OHV-on-9.4 million acres

Looks like Moab could be no more and at the same time, the western US states may need to come to grips with a possible future of "pay-to-play" off-roading.

"Wilderness" is gaining ground in the US but only in the western states. The above Bill is being promoted by representatives from New York, a state with only 1% of its public land designated as 'Wilderness'!
