Dr. John F Murray to appear again on "Beyond the Game" with host Rick Horrow

Palm Beach, January 5, 2010

If you're in South Florida (from Boca Raton to the Treasure Coast), can pull in satellite or watch online, I'll be a panelist again on Rick Horrow's dynamic sports business tv show "Beyond the Game" airing this Saturday at 7:30 PM. I'm an expert talking head with Troy Stradford (former Miami Dolphin player and radio host) and baseball's Tommy Hutton. We'll discuss a number of current issues and I'll give the unique mental spin again. Watch my previous episode of "Beyond the Game" from December 12 at the link off the main website at http://www.JohnFMurray.com

If you missed the ESPN2 and NFL Network video clip from November when I was interviewed about the emotions of love and hate in the NFL, let me know and I'll send you a link to this clip. The powers that be took it off YouTube and Facebook (it must have been good) but I'll get it to you if you just ask.
Talent Does Not Necessarily Mean Smart!
Cricket Player Calls Sports Psychology Bullshit

Across the pond in the London "Independent," Sir Ian Botham called sports psychology "the biggest load of bullshit ever invented." As you might suspect, I took exception in my comments below the article. I guess we are all entitled to our opinion and I welcome naysayers and critics to the table too.

I don't know this guy, but I know he played a mean game of cricket once. Did he use up all his mental skills playing his sport? He obviously has no understanding of sports psychology and feels justified to attack an entire science and profession. It's amusing how someone with such a high profile can spew such garbage. Feel free to sign in and express your views in the article comments section.
Thanks for your continuing ideas to help improve the well being and performance of all those engaged in high demand pursuits - whether in business or sports!
