Public Art for Conargo
Conargo Shire Council in partnership with South West Arts Inc. are seeking Expressions of Interest from artists to design & create a public artwork which will act as cladding on the existing public amenities block within Conargo Recreational Reserve. The artwork may take any form with two or three dimensional, free-standing, ‘cladding’ or more traditional ‘mural’ designs all acceptable for consideration for the final artwork.

Breakthrough
The third round of the Breakthrough: Emerging Indigenous Contemporary Musicians Recording initiative is now open for applications.  Breakthrough will enable two promising Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander musicians or bands achieve increased audience exposure and further their careers in the music sector. Emerging Indigenous musicians and bands are invited to apply for up to $25,000 to produce a high quality recording of original tracks, suitable for broadcast and commercial release, assessed through a competitive process.  Successful recipients will also have an opportunity to apply for up to $10,000 in additional mentoring and promotional support.

Marrickville Artist in Residency Program 2012


The 2012 Marrickville Artist Residency Program is open for applications.  The Artist Residency Program provides month-long professional development opportunities for artists while promoting cultural understanding and development. Artist accommodation is located at the Petersham Town Hall Artist Residence.  Resident artists are expected to do their own work and to make a contribution to the cultural life of the Marrickville community.  The residence can accommodate up to 3 artists (all from the same application/ project) at a time.  The residency is open to regional, interstate and international applicants.

Opportunities for Young and Emerging Artists – Art Organisations
The Australian Government has committed a total of $6.6 million over four years to a program to increase opportunities for Australia’s young and emerging artists.  The program will enable young and emerging artist to build their skills and profile and build their reputations, and to assist organisations to present an exciting and diverse cultural program to Australian audiences.

Albury Art Prize
The Albury Art Prize for 2012 is now open. It is one of New South Wales' oldest municipal art awards, awarded to a substantial number of renowned artists through its 64-year history. Entries are accepted from artists nationally working in any visual medium. In 2012, the prize offers a $20,000 residency. The winner of the prize will be announced on January 27 2012 at the opening of the exhibition of short-listed entrants.

Arts NSW | Quick Response Grants


Quick Response project funding is available for professional individuals, groups and small- to medium-sized organisations who have received an unexpected invitation to participate in a recognised national or international arts and cultural event / activity. Up to $3000 is available for professional individuals, up to $10,000 for groups of professional individuals and partnerships, and up to $10,000 for small to medium sized organisations.

Indent Partnership Grant
The Indent Partnership Grant applications are now open for youth music events happening in NSW in 2012.
The grants are across two categories, the Grass Roots Grant and the Event Development Grant and fund music events run by young people for young people.  The grants program, has been specifically developed for young people to stage all-ages, drug and alcohol free music events across the state. The grants assist young people and emerging artists by offering support, advice, workshops and the resources required to get regular gigs happening in their local area.  The Grass Roots Grants are more specifically aimed at entry level events like band comps, open mic and local band nights and valued at $2,500. The Event Development Grants are for those who have successfully acquitted a Grass Roots Grant and are looking at expanding their event scope by engaging in the professional and local music industry, and applications are for $5,000.

Janet Holmes à Court Artists' Grant

NSW Artists' Grants
Please note, the ‘NSW Artists' Grant’ has replaced the ‘Marketing Grant for NSW Artists’ grant scheme. This grant has been initiated by NAVA to assist professional visual arts, craft and design practitioners in NSW to effectively produce, present and promote their work throughout NSW, interstate and overseas. It is offered in four quick response rounds with grants available to individuals for up to $1,250 ($1,375 inc GST) and to groups for up to $2,500 ($2,750 inc GST)..

The Riverina First Community Fund
The Riverina First Community Fund is a philanthropic fund to be used to improve social, cultural and community services and facilities in Riverina communities.  Projects are not expected to have a telecommunications focus.  Funds can be used for capital works, as contributions to existing community initiatives, and as a financial contribution to assist and improve upon opportunities to access additional funds for community projects where a matching financial contribution is required. Grants are available up to $2000 for individual projects by a community or not for profit group .

Head On Photo Festival 2012


You are invited to participate in Sydney’s Head On Photo Festival 2012, 4 May – 3 June 2012. The festival aims to attract a wide range of excellent photography from Australia and overseas that speaks for itself, regardless of whether the photographer is well known or not. If you: are a photographer/photoartist wanting to exhibit (group or solo) during the festival; have scheduled a show and would like to be promoted through Head On Photo Festival; have a photomedia event you would like to run in conjunction with the festival; can recommend a space for exhibition - galleries, cafes, restaurants, outdoor venue. Swan Hill Print & Drawing Acquisitive Awards 2012

Community Relations Commission – Sponsorship Grants
Sponsorship grants are for special events such as festivals and major cultural events.  The grants are to provide public support for an event or an occasion by the NSW Government through the Community Relations commission.  Examples of projects are – the hosting of seminars and conferences, multicultural and inter-community forums, local festivals and events and teaching craft skills to target groups from a cultural diverse background.

But Wait There's More...

The Long Paddock Cobb Highway Touring Route, located in south western NSW, is seeking artists to commission for four sculptures along the touring route. The artworks will pay tribute to the timber industry in the region and will be installed in July 2012. This is an amazing opportunity to be involved with the world’s largest open air gallery. The works, although produced by individual artists will be marketed as an entire collection, adding to the success of the original seven artworks. The sculptures will be seen by approximately 100 000 visitors each year across the length of the Long Paddock – Cobb Highway Touring Route.
