Arts Funding Forum – How to get money for art
In partnership with Albury City and Arts NSW, the Australia Council for the Arts invites you to discover how the national funding agency can support you or your organisation.  The forum will give you information on the arts funding programs and how to increase the chances of having a successful application.  The forum is free and aimed at all current and aspiring artists and arts organisations interested in learning about what the Australia Council offers.  Please RSVP by Friday 22 October at www.australiacouncil.gov.au/forums.

JUMP Mentorships 2011
Are you a young Australian artist on the cusp of a great career?  JUMP directly supports the career development of artists aged 18-30 and in their first five years of professional practice, by facilitating mentorships with leading professionals in their chosen artform.   As Australia's largest artist mentoring program, JUMP is supported by the Australia Council for the Arts, managed nationally by Youth Arts Queensland, and delivered in collaboration with state delivery partners.

Laughing Waters Artist Residency 2011









Nillumbik Shire Council, in partnership with Parks Victoria, invites contemporary artists working across all artforms to apply for a residency of up to four months in one of two properties located in protected Eltham bushland, approximately 30 kilometres north-east of Melbourne. Selected artists will be required to devise and deliver a small community project as part of their residency. The residency program aims to provide contemporary artists with an opportunity to develop their practice in an inspiring natural and cultural environment while contributing to cultural development and environmental awareness within the Shire

Your Community Cares receives another year of funding
Your Community Cares has gratefully received another year of funding through the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs’ Community Investment Program.  YCC aims to support and initiate community events and projects that act as a catalyst to generate resilience and hope by bringing people in difficult circumstances together to share their troubles, their hopes and their dreams and in so doing to build stronger social networks.

Arts NSW Funding Open for 2011
2011 Project Funding (Quick Response)
Quick Response Project Funding supports unexpected artistic and professional development opportunities for individuals, groups and small to medium organisations.  Eligible projects in this category would not meet the criteria or timing of project categories as part of the main Arts Funding Program.
The objectives of the Quick Response Project Funding are to:
•    support professional and artistic development in NSW
•    stimulate arts and cultural development in NSW
•    support the employment of NSW artists
•    contribute to innovation and excellence
•    engage with new audiences
•    improve performance and production standards
•    promote the NSW arts and cultural sector nationally and internationally.
Applications must be received by Arts NSW no later than 5pm on the following closing dates.

Funding Amount   $3000 individuals & $10,000 organisations

Trust Foundation - The Marten Bequest Travelling Scholarships

New Work – Theatre


 






New work grants support one-off projects that result in the creation of new contemporary theatre work. This can include a new production of an existing text.

There are three types of new work grants:
Creative development – supports the development stages of a new work, such as research, creative development workshops or commissioning a writer
Production – supports a public performance of a new work and any stages leading up to it, where a presenting partner has already committed to the project
Young artists initiative – supports either the creative development or production of a new work.
Decisions advised at the end of February 2011 and projects may start 1 March 2011.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Arts
Presentation and Promotion Grants supports the exhibiting, publishing, recording, presenting and promoting of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists and their works.  Decisions advised March 2011 and projects may start 1 April 2011.

Presentation and Promotion - Music
Presentation and Promotion grants support one-off projects that present, publish, distribute and/or market quality music of any style.  The grants support activities such as gigs, concerts, festivals, showcases and promotional or performance tours within Australia, and publications that document or discuss aspects of music in Australia.  You may apply to the music board for professional fees, associated expenses such as on-costs and travel, and a reasonable level of promotional and administrative costs, including those for activities that are not fully professional.
Decisions advised March 2011and projects may start 18 March 2011.

NAVA Grants
Janet Holmes à Court Artists' Grant
This grant provides provides professional artists with assistance towards the costs of public presentation of visual arts, craft and design. This can include, but is not limited to, framing, media releases, media photographs, advertising, space rental, installation costs, promotional printing, mail outs, documentation, freight, travel, equipment rental, insurance, technical assistance and opening costs.

This grant aims to assist professional visual artists and craftspeople in NSW to effectively promote and market their work throughout NSW, interstate and overseas through creative and cost effective marketing initiatives and campaigns.

Indent Partnership Grants








Indent Partnership Grants helping all age drug and alcohol free music events – run by young people for young people.  The Grant applications are now open and are offered in two categories. The Grassroots Grants which are set at $2,500 and are for entry level, small scale local events and the Event Development Grants, which are set at $5,000 and are geared at the larger events in the Indent spectrum – regional events, youth stages at bigger festivals, events that tie in a range of communities and community aspects.
