Well Moulamein and Conargo were all abuzz with the ACRE documentaries world premieres recently.  Guests were treated to red carpet, fine food, great company and award winning films by Malcolm McKinnon and Helen Newman.  DVDs are now on sale - $15 from our office.

Conargo & Moulamein ACRE Premieres

The first screening of 'Hit me on the Head with a Raindrop' a Moulamein documentary highlighting the resilience of the local community and the Conargo 'Market to Market' were screened late November.  The films capture the spirit of both communities, locals and guests enjoyed walking the red carpet in their black tie attire.


Leanne Crawford Concerts
Leanne Crawford
Professionally singing and touring around Australia, Leanne’s smooth, sultry voice entertained audiences at Deniliquin, Pretty Pine and Tocumwal early in November. Leanne’s up-beat and playful approach to jazz was embraced by her charismatic presence that quickly drew the audience in.

The Echuca Moama Arts Festival

The Echuca Moama Arts Initiative was very excited to host their inaugural arts festival mid November.  Artists, musicians, poets, dancers, puppetry and performance artists exhibited.  A new brochure promoting the Initiative was also launched.

Local artists and local government working together
Berrigan
Local artist Janice Graham checking out the site for a public art installation in Berrigan.  The commissioned artwork is part of `Growing Our Place' a public arts program operating across nine local government areas in SW NSW that re-allocates existing local government funds dedicated for use on functional items towards public arts development.

CASP Time

It’s time to get those thinking Caps on as the 2012 round of the Country Arts Support Program has just opened with applications closing on the 10th of February 2012. Successful applicants will be advised on the 26th of March and  Projects can take place between the 9th of April 2012 and the 7th of April 2013. Please note that you must discuss your project with Alyce Fisher in order to be eligible (03) 5881 7749.

Yallambee Art Exhibition

Multi Arts Hall Deniliquin
Spend a few hours viewing the wonderful artwork created by the Yallambee Centre.  The Official Opening is 11am Monday 5 December.  The exhibition can be viewed between 10am – 2pm.  This project and exhibition was possible due to CASP (Country Arts Support Program) funding.

Jazz on the Red Dust Plains

The inaugural Sunnylot festival line-up has been announced with bands Evermore, Sparkadia and Better than the Wizards set to perform.  District acts the Oxford Collection, Benny Walker and Fox Road will also appear at the festival.  Food and drink will be available with no BYO allowed.  The event is sponsored by the Riverine Herald, Art Start NSW Youth Art Skills and South West Arts.  Ticket pricing -  $71.50 until 31st October.  $80.00 for the month of November and $90 at the gate.

Deniliquin Under the Stars Rodeo

Help us get down in the dust and pin those ears down flat on Saturday night when Australia’s premier stock contractor Gary McPhee presents his rankest bucking horses and bulls against the top cowboys and cowgirls in the nation.  There will be a Spectators viewing mound, food canteen and a licensed bar operating.  Grand Entry and main performance from 6pm, Slack and 2nd division events during the day.  There will also be Latigo ropes, burin’ rosin, broncs and mud bulls and blood, you will see it all at the Deni Rodeo

Griffith - HSC Graduates Exhibition

HSC Graduates exhibition features a selection of student works developed for the Higher School Certificate in 2011 for Visual Arts, Design and Technology and Textiles and Design from Griffith High, Wade High, Marion Catholic College, Leeton High and Barellan Central School. It includes a broad range of outcomes for these subjects studied, including textiles, painting, drawing, illustration, photography, animation, wood work and much more.

Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing
