Poetry in Motion with Noel Williams

Noel Williams, Bank Street Arts’ resident poet, with drop-in poetry workshop and exhibition of interactive poems. Help Noel with poems-in-progress, explore computer poems and quirky poetry objects, or/and bring your own poems to work on.

Michael McCarthy grew up in West Cork, Ireland. His first collection won the Patrick Kavanagh Award, and his new book At the Races was overall winner of the 08/09 Poetry Business Competition. He works as a priest in North Yorkshire.

Michael Schmidt is a major figure in contemporary poetry. His books include PBS Recommendations and Special Commendations, and his astonishing Resurrection of the Body was a critical and popular success. He will be launching his Collected Poems.

An advanced, critical workshop focusing on poems in a stringent but constructive atmosphere. This is a very rare chance to work with perhaps the most authoritative figure in poetry today. Michael Schmidt is editorial director of Carcanet Press and PN Review, and is Professor of Poetry at Glasgow University.
