Vaccinations
We realize that there are many veterinary hospitals in the area that provide wellness and vaccination services for your pets.  What you may not know is that not all vaccines are created equal.  Some vaccines protect better than others.  Some have the potential to increase your pet's risk of a vaccine reaction.  To ensure the best for your animal's health, we have recently begun the process of switching to Merial vaccines in our feline vaccine protocol.  This specific line of vaccines for rabies and feline leukemia is non-adjuvanted.  This means that these vaccines lack a specific ingredient used to stimulate local inflammation, and thus help lessen one of the risks leading to feline injection site sarcomas - a type of cancer that we have occasionally seen in cats over the past 10 years.  To go one step further, our feline leukemia vaccine will be given through a painless needless injetion system - further minimizing risk to your cat.  Our canine vaccines, manufactured by Pfizer, afford our dogs great protection from parvo, distemper, leptospirosis and more.  We will continue to provide our dogs and cats with the best vaccines possible.  We know that all dogs and cats lead different lifestyles, and therefore we design a vaccine protocol specifically tailored to your animal.  Gone are the days of going to the vet every year just for "shots!"
Non-Anesthetic Dentals
We are pleased to announce that we are undergoing some trials to bring non-anesthetic, non-sedating dentistry to our hospital.  We will be bringing in a group of professionally trained dental technicians experienced in the practice of non-anesthetic dentistry.  This will help us to provide, when indicated, an alternative to a dental cleaning which must be performed under general anesthesia.  Those to benefit could include older animals, dogs and cats with risky medical conditions, and even animals that have mild dental disease where general anesthesia may be unnecessary.  Non-anesthetic dental cleanings will provide a lower-cost, but potentially equally effective way of managing your pets' teeth.  We will keep you updated with this hospital development.
