Guitar Teacher
Available Mondays and Thursdays 4-8pm
Mahdi Vojdani is a conductor, composer, guitar and piano performer, and music educator with a deep passion for inspiring the next generation of musicians. With over 15 years of teaching experience including at the university level, he brings a wealth of knowledge and creativity to every lesson.

Mahdi has been honored with accolades such as the Best Composer award at the Movie and Theatre Festival and recognition from the Global Music Awards. His artistic portfolio includes four instrumental albums and the publication of his book,
he Piano Pieces for Life. His work spans composing, arranging, conducting, and performing internationally. He has conducted orchestras in various countries, and many of his students have gone on to be accepted into prestigious conservatories and orchestras around the world. Mahdi offers specialized programs tailored to music enthusiasts, helping them refine their skills in composition, performance, and orchestration. He seamlessly adapts his teaching across music curriculums with the goal to empower each student to reach their full musical potential.

For our next social media project, we would like to film some very short and casual 2-3 question interviews with any students and parents who would like to participate. We know that your testimonials carry a lot of weight with parents considering music lessons and would love to share your thoughts with prospective families on Instagram and Facebook.
Participating families earn at least +50 points!
That's equal to $25 to use towards tuition, books, and exams!
(awarded once for parent(s) but not for each parent, and once per participating child)

If you are interested to participate in this project, please send us a reply and let us know who in your family would like to participate (whether its yourself, kid(s) or everyone) and when (ex. "on a Saturday before or after our 3pm class). We will then send you a list of questions from which you and/or your kids can pick out any 2-3 to answer for the video.

As you may know, our senior student Angelina Tukeli is currently fulfilling her YorkU music internship placement with 88Keys! She is offering practice coach sessions for JMC3-4 and YMC 1-3 students looking for extra help.
What are practice coach sessions?
Practice coach sessions are one on one lessons we offer our Yamaha group students to help catch up after an absence or for extra practice with a teacher outside of the group class. Students can drill concepts they learned in class or use the time for extra Yamaha exam prep help.

Angelina is available on Monday and Saturday afternoons until end of May
If you are interested, please email us and let us know all the possible days/times that would work for you as we try to build up her schedule. Practice coach sessions with Angelina are offered free of charge! Sessions are one on one individual lessons taking place at the school, in-person instruction only.

JAC students can find the link to their respective JOC project shortfilms, and exam prep materials will also be linked once relevant.

Gen-Connect Volunteer Performance Opportunities |

**Senior students only: Students must be individual students learning at the advanced level, or group class students of the JSAC stream, JAC3+, or Ensemble classes.**
Gen-Connect is a registered non-profit, student-run organization dedicated to bridging the generational gap through performative arts. They organize unique live events, commonly at retirement homes, where students of all ages showcase their artistic talents. These events provide young performers with valuable experience, volunteer hours, and above all, connections with the audience. Simultaneously, the audience enjoys the performances and fosters connections with with the performer.
Events are 1 hour and 30 minutes in run time - maximum length of each performance is 10 minutes. Students are awarded at least 2 volunteer hours.

- Saturday, May 24th @2pm at Delmanor of Richmond Hill (80 Elgin Mills Rd E, Richmond Hill, ON L4C 0L3)
Students interested to participate are asked to email us at info@88keys.ca with the performing student's full name, titles to be played, overall duration, number of guests attending with, and which event(s) they wish to register for.

Under the instruction of Mr. Kristian, students age 8-12yo will learn to perform fun and amazing close-up magic, create personalized illusions, and build self confidence in public speaking, acting, performance art, and socialization with peers.

Though typically a challenging instrument to begin, the violin is beautifully rewarding to the dedicated student. Under Mr. Kristian's instruction, students will learn to play in either RCM or Suzuki or a mix of both curriculums depending on age, experience, and interest. Beyond learning proper playing technique, performance, and expression, students also develop their standing posture and discipline for musical practice.
