Hello Students and Families,
Welcome back to 88Keys! Whether you are just beginning your musical journey or coming back for another year of musical fun, we are very happy to have you joining us. Before classes begin, there are a few important things that you will need to know! |
|
|
CLASS CONFIRMATION EMAILS
Please keep an eye on your email inbox for your class confirmation email. Everything you will need to know about your class start date, time, and classroom name will be included there, as well as any other important information that you will need to know before your classes begin. If you would like to double-check your class time, our website has been updated under the SCHEDULE+ section with our finalized class schedule.

COURSE MATERIALS
Course materials will be available for pick up starting Tuesday, August 22nd. Parents/Guardians are welcome to pick up their student's course materials early, though if you do not have time to do so, please do not worry! Any class materials not picked up before the start of classes will be handed out on the first day of class.

IMPORTANT: 88Keys summer hours vary depending on scheduled lesson times. Please call the studio before arriving to pick up your student's class materials to ensure that a staff member will be available to help you. Thank you! |

What's New For 2016-2017? |
|
|
88KEYS CHILDREN'S CHOIR (For age 5 and up!)
No one in the world owns a more unique instrument than their voice. Not one person's voice is the same as another, and every voice is as beautiful as the next!
Starting in Fall 2017, we would like to bring together all of our unique, beautiful voices for our very first choir group! This choir - lead by current Yamaha instructor and professional vocalist, Ms. Alondra - will learn how to: |

• use their voices in a healthy manner.
• sing in pitch.
• breathe properly and enunciate while singing.
• sing with other students in ensemble. |
|
|
Like our other weekly classes, our choir will have opportunities to perform at all of our annual school-wide shows (holiday recital, Junior Original Concert, and year-end recital), as well as outreach concerts and community festival performances. Students/families interested in joining are welcome to contact the front desk at any time for more details!

Calling All Young Composers! |
|
|
Nurture your student's creativity and musical skill by having them join us for the Composition Master Class (for JMC4/YMC3 students and up)!
The Composition Master Class program is an enrichment course for our senior students that will give them an opportunity for more in-depth instruction in composition. Class topics include composition theory, composition tools, homophonic and polyphonic styles, and much more! |

|
The Composition Master Class program will be broken up into two semesters throughout the 2017/2018 academic year, allowing students the opportunity to complete not one, but two original compositions! Students are welcome to sign up for one or both semesters depending on their preference.
Participating students may also have the opportunity to have their original compositions submitted for consideration in the national and international Junior Original Concerts! Senior student Zoe Kagan performed her composition, "Dance Of The Friendly Giant," at the national concert in the spring - who knows? That might be you next year!
Students interested in participating are welcome to talk to their homeroom teacher or the front desk to learn more! |
