ACC Japan Grantee Alumni Event

 

ACC日本財団として第二回目となるグランティ・アルムナイ・イベント（同窓会）を6月3日に国際文化会館にて開催しました。55名のACCグランティと、ACCの活動を支えて下さるファウンディングメンバーの皆様にお集まりいただき、活気に満ちた素晴らしい会となりました。懇親会に先立ち、長谷川祐子さん（ACC 1991-2012）に「日本のアートをグローバル化するために美術館、アーテイスト、大学に必要なこと」をテーマに、刺激的で示唆に富むレクチャーを行なっていただきました。続いて隈研吾さん（ACC 1985, 2019）のご発声で始まった懇親会では、2024年度の新たなグランティも含め、多彩な分野で活躍する参加者の皆様が、世代や領域を超えて会話や交流をお楽しみいただき、意義深いものだったとの声も多く寄せられました。ご参加くださった皆様に感謝申し上げるとともに、これからもこのような会が皆様の交流や繋がりを深める機会となることを願っています。

 

ACC Japan Foundation held its second Grantee Alumni Event at the International House of Japan on June 3. 55 ACC grantees, along with ACC Founding Members, who support ACC's activities, gathered for a lively exchange. Prior to the reception, Yuko Hasegawa (ACC 1991-2012) delivered a stimulating and insightful lecture on the theme "Globalizing Japanese Art: What Museums, Artists, and Universities Need to Do." At the reception, which commenced with a toast by Kengo Kuma (ACC 1985, 2019), the attendees, including new grantees for 2024, who are active in a variety of fields, enjoyed conversation and exchange across generations and their respective specialties, and many commented that it was meaningful. We would like to thank everyone who attended and hope that these events will continue to be an opportunity for participants to deepen their relationships and connections.

ACC Grantee Activity Report Meeting

 

昨年10月から今年4月にかけて台湾にてフェローシップを行った、作曲家で笙演奏家の清水チャートリーさん（ACC 2021）が、台湾での活動について報告を行いました。台湾では、笙の歴史や時間性、記譜法に関する調査研究を深めると同時に、台湾の人々に向けた笙の演奏会や大学における講義などを行いました。また、台湾の笙（シェン）奏者でACCグランティのリ・リーチン（李俐錦）さん（ACC 2021）や台湾のビジュアルアーティストとコラボレーションを行い、ミュージックビデオ作品『麒麟テレフォン』を制作しました。このフェローシップをきっかけに、今後も台湾におけるコラボレーションや公演、制作委嘱などのプロジェクトを行うことになり、新たな交流と活動の場を広げました。

 

Chatori Shimizu (ACC 2021), a composer and Sho performer, who conducted a 6-month fellowship in Taiwan until April this year, gave a report on his activities in Taiwan. While in Taiwan, he deepened his research on the history, time identity, and notation of Sho, and at the same time, gave Sho concerts and lectures at universities for the Taiwanese people. He also collaborated with Li-Chin Li　(ACC 2021), a Taiwanese Sheng performer and an ACC grantee, and other Taiwanese visual artists to produce a music video work, “Kirin Telephone.” As a result of this fellowship, he will continue to engage in collaborations, performances, and commissioned works in Taiwan, expanding his scope of activities and relationships to new horizons.

追悼：槇文彦さん（ACC 1976)

In Memoriam: Fumihiko Maki (ACC 1976)

 

ACCは1976年グランティの槇文彦さんのご逝去の報に接し、深く哀悼の意を表します。

槇さんはこれまで深い理解と愛情をもってACCの活動を支えてくださいました。1994年にBlanchette Hooker Rockefeller（BHR）Memorial Fundを立ち上げる際には実行委員に加わっていただき、また、2014年のACC50周年記念の際は実行委員長として、また、2018年の55周年の際はACC East West Dialogueのスピーカーとしてご出演いただくなど、ACCに多大なるご尽力を賜りました。

槇さんは代官山のヒルサイドテラスや京都国立近代美術館など、生涯を通して多くの作品を手がけられました。そうした功績は国内外で高く評価され、1993年に建築界のノーベル賞と評されるプリツカー賞を、1999年には高松宮殿下記念世界文化賞を、そして2011年にはAIAアメリカ建築家協会からゴールドメダルを受賞なさいました。

槇さんのご冥福を心よりお祈り申し上げます。

 

ACC is deeply saddened by the recent passing of ACC 1976 grantee Fumihiko Maki. 

Mr. Maki has supported ACC's activities with deep understanding and love. He has made a great contribution to ACC, including being one of the committee members when the Blanchette Hooker Rockefeller (BHR) Memorial Fund was launched in 1994, as the chair of the executive committee for the ACC's 50th anniversary in 2014, and as a speaker at the ACC East West Dialogue for the 55th anniversary in 2018. 

His major works are characterized by modernist architecture and sophisticated spaces which include Hillside Terrace Complex (1969) and the National Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto (1986). Highly acclaimed both in Japan and abroad, he received the Pritzker Architecture Prize, considered the Nobel Prize of architecture, in 1993, the Praemium Imperiale in Honor of Prince Takamatsu in 1999, and the Gold Medal from the American Institute of Architects in 2011.
