シンディ・マーティンさん来日! 
Cindy MARTIN in Japan!

Cindy Martin is a Filipina-American documentary filmmaker, as well as a film festival and film community organizer based in Chicago, dedicated to amplifying the voices from underrepresented communities, with a particular focus on AAPI, BIPOC, and women’s stories. 
For this fellowship, she will visit the Philippines and Japan, countries connected to her roots, to conduct research on the history of World War II from the Japanese perspective and how Japanese view themselves, how they think, and how they perceive the Filipino people. Additionally, she will explore how centuries of colonization and patriarchy in the Philippines led to a shattered Filipino identity and how scholars and the youth are piecing it back together. Martin hopes that her film will serve as a blueprint for the Filipino diaspora to begin investigating and understanding their own fractured cultural identities, while also healing intergenerational trauma.At the same time, she hopes that her film will reach beyond the Filipino community and be shared with individuals, especially BIPOC and women, who have historically been sidelined.

ロンドンとロサンゼルスで20年以上にわたり、ロイター通信、AP通信、ABCニュース、スカイニュースなどで放送ジャーナリストとして活躍した経歴を持つドキュメンタリー映画の制作者。2022年には、映画制作会社Kartemquinによる「Diverse Voices in Docs」フェローシップおよびCNN／Film Independentによるドキュシリーズ・フェローシップに選出されました。2023年には、FYLPRO（フィリピン系若手リーダー育成プログラム）のフェローとしてフィリピンを訪れ、培ってきたスキルと経験を活かし、地方自治体、企業、非営利団体と協働しました。

Martin lived and worked in London and Los Angeles for over 20 years as a broadcast journalist for Reuters, AP, ABC News, and Sky News.
In 2022, she was selected as a fellow of Kartemquin’s Diverse Voices in Docs (DVID) program and the CNN/Film Independent Docuseries Intensive.
In 2023, she participated in the Filipino Young Leaders Program (FYLPRO) Immersion fellowship, returning to the Philippines to collaborate with local governments, businesses, and nonprofit organizations.

田中悠美子さんが第24回（2024年度）佐治敬三賞受賞
Yumiko Tanaka received the 24th (2024) Keizo Saji Prize

田中悠美子さん（ACC 2006)が、昨年12月に開催した「田中悠美子リサイタル2024～義太夫三味線の音響世界」で、第24回（2024年度）佐治敬三賞を受賞しました。
この賞は、毎年日本国内で実施された音楽を主体とする公演の中から、チャレンジ精神に満ちた企画でかつ公演成果の水準の高いすぐれた公演に贈られるもので、応募のあったものの中から選定されます。
田中さんの受賞公演は「太棹三味線奏者田中悠美子の40年を超える活動の集大成にあたる公演」と評され、共演した内橋和久氏（ギター／ダクソフォン）との即興について「お互いの音楽性へのリスペクトにあふれた高密度かつ親密な25分の対話」で「白眉だった」と高く評価されました。

Yumiko Tanaka (ACC 2006) was awarded the 24th (2024) Keizo Saji Prize with “Yumiko Tanaka Recital 2024－The Sonic World of Gidayu Shamisen,” held last December. 
The Keizo Saji Prize is awarded to applicants selected from among those who gave predominantly music-based performances held in Japan during the year, with winners chosen based on a willingness to challenge and on superior performances that engender a strong reaction.
Yumiko's award-winning performance was described as “the culmination of over 40 years of activities by futozao shamisen player Yumiko Tanaka,” and her improvisation session with Kazuhisa Uchihashi (guitar/daxophone) was highly praised as “a dense and intimate 25-minute conversation, full of respect for each other's musicality."
