2023年グランティ：やんツーさん、シムラブロスさん、福原冠さん・三橋俊平さん  
Yang02, SHIMURABros, Kan FUKUHARA, Shumpei MITSUHASHI (ACC 2023)  

A fellowship report meeting was held with three groups of grantees from the 2023 grant year who conducted fellowships in the United States. Among the 2024 grantees who will conduct their fellowship this year, Souya Handa, Hideki Umezawa, and Aki Yahata attended the meeting. We were also pleased to welcome jury members Shinji Ono, Hiroyuki Takahashi (ACC 2012), and Takako Shibata, as well as alumnus Aki Onda (ACC 2017). The meeting featured a lively discussion and active exchange of ideas.

Yang02, who spent six months in New York, conducted research on the history of media art. He interviewed Julie Martin, a founding member and current director of E.A.T. (Experiments in Art and Technology). In the latter half of his stay, he explored the role of advanced technologies in energy use and their implications for capitalism. He visited wind power facilities and technology-related sites in California, and also took part in a prayer walk through sacred Indigenous lands in Arizona that have been affected by uranium mining. Through dialogue with Native American communities, he gained new perspectives.

SHIMURAbros conducted research on Beate Sirota Gordon, who played a key role in drafting the human rights clauses of Japan’s constitution. They visited Mills College in California, where Beate studied, to conduct archival research. In New York, they interviewed people who knew her personally, including her daughter and individuals at the Asia Society and Japan Society, where Beate served as director.

Kan Fukuhara and Shumpei Mitsuhashi, who organize rehearsal sessions for actors and dancers in Japan, each participated in over 70 lessons and workshops during their two-month fellowship in New York. They reflected deeply on the nature of inclusive rehearsal spaces and the potential for community building through their fellowship experiences.

高橋隆史氏 理事就任のお知らせ
Takafumi Takahashi Appointed to the Board of Trustees of ACC Japan 

 この度、高橋隆史氏が、4月10日付で一般財団法人アジアン・カルチュラル・カウンシル（ACC）日本財団の理事に就任致しましたことをお知らせします。

高橋氏は株式会社ブレインパッドの共同創業者であり、ビッグデータ・AI領域で活躍する一方、2018年より現代アートのコレクションを開始され、若手コレクターを増やすために、起業家の集まりEOにおいて現代アート同好会の幹事を務めるほか、米国NMWA( National Museum of Woman in the Arts: アート界のジェンダー問題に取り組む女性作家による作品のみを収集する美術館）の日本支部の委員もされているなど、現代アート業界における様々な課題解消のための活動にも積極的に参加していらっしゃいます。
現代アートにも造詣が深い高橋氏が理事として、今後のACC日本財団をより発展させて下さる事を願っております。

■高橋隆史（たかはしたかふみ）氏について
1997年 慶應義塾大学大学院政策・メディア研究科修士課程修了。
新卒として日本サン・マイクロシステムズ株式会社（現：日本オラクル株式会社）に入社。その後、フリービット・ドットコム株式会社（現：フリービット株式会社）の起業参画を経て、日本企業のビッグデータ活用を支援するべく2004年3月に株式会社ブレインパッドを共同創業。代表取締役社長として、2011年9月に東証マザーズ、2013年には東証一部上場を成し遂げる（現在、プライム市場銘柄）。
 現在、一般社団法人データサイエンティスト協会代表理事を務める他、一般社団法人日本ディープラーニング協会の発足にも関わる。
2018年より現代アートのコレクションを開始、2024年WHAT MUSEUM（天王洲アイル）にて、コレクション展「Collecting? Connecting?」展が開催された。

We are pleased to announce that Mr. Takafumi Takahashi has been appointed to the Board of Trustees of the Asian Cultural Council (ACC) Japan Foundation, effective April 10, 2025.

Mr. Takahashi is a co-founder of BrainPad Inc. and is active in the Big Data and AI field. He started a contemporary art collection in 2018. To promote its enjoyment and encourage young collectors, he founded and leads a contemporary art club within EO, an entrepreneurs’ network. Additionally, he is involved in solving gender inequality in the art industry as a board member of the Japan branch of the National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA) in the United States. He actively participates in various initiatives to address issues in the contemporary art world.
We hope Mr. Takahashi, who has extensive expertise in contemporary art, will continue to develop the ACC Japan Foundation as a board member in the future.

■Takafumi Takahashi [profile]
In 1997, Takafumi Takahashi completed a master’s degree at Keio University Graduate School of Media and Governance.
He started his career at Sun Microsystems Japan (now Oracle Japan) as a new graduate. Later, he joined the founding team of FreeBit.com Inc. (now FreeBit Co., Ltd.). In March 2004, he co-founded BrainPad Inc. to help Japanese companies use Big Data. As CEO, he led the company to an IPO on the Tokyo Mothers Market in September 2011 and a listing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange First Section in 2013 (now listed on the Prime Market).
Currently, he serves as the Representative Director of the Data Scientist Association of Japan and was also involved in the founding of the Japan Deep Learning Association.

Since 2018, he has been collecting contemporary art. His collection exhibition, “Collecting? Connecting?”, was held at WHAT MUSEUM (Tennozu Isle) in 2024.
