北村明子さん（ACC 2003, 2015）が第20回日本ダンスフォーラム大賞受賞
Akiko KITAMURA (ACC 2003, 2015) received the 20th Japan Dance Forum Grand  Prize

 

北村明子さんが第20回日本ダンスフォーラム大賞を受賞しました。この賞は、前年の1月から12月の期間に日本国内で実施されたダンス作品の発表や活動等を対象に、優れた成果を挙げた振付家、ダンサー等の功績を評価する年間賞です。北村さんは、昨年11月にシアタートラムで発表した《The Long Strong Happy Death》で、「ダンスや身体の前にまず思想があり、それを表すためにこれまで収拾してきた舞踊の方法を利用しているようだった」と高く評価されました。ACCは、北村さんを中心にして設立されたオフィスアルブ（ACC2023）のフィリピンでのフィールドワークを助成しており、その際の経験が本作のクリエーションに活かされました。

Akiko Kitamura has been awarded the 20th Japan Dance Forum Grand Prize. This annual award recognizes the achievements of choreographers, dancers, and others who have demonstrated outstanding results in contemporary dance performances and activities held in Japan between January and December of the previous year. Kitamura was highly commended for her work on The Long Strong Happy Death, which premiered at Theater Tram last November, with a comment from the judges, “ideas came before dance and the body, and Kitamura seemed to be using the dance methods she had developed over the years to express those ideas.” The ACC has provided funding for fieldwork in the Philippines conducted by Office ALB (ACC2023), an organization founded by Kitamura, and that experience was incorporated into the creation of this piece.

 

 

2026年第1回フェローシップ報告会（2025年グランティ：熊倉晴子さん、足立智美さん）
The 1st ACC Fellowship Report Meeting 2026: Haruko KUMAKURA, Tomomi ADACHI (ACC 2025)

 　  

ACC Japan held a fellowship report meeting featuring Haruko Kumakura and Tomomi Adachi, our 2025 grantees who completed their fellowships in Southeast Asia. A shared thread running through both presentations was the central role of dialogue — with local artists, curators, and art practitioners. Rather than approaching their fellowships as one-way observation or information-gathering including interviews, both fellows placed great emphasis on spending time alongside people, exchanging ideas, and cultivating relationships built on mutual trust.

Haruko KUMAKURA (Indonesia | August – November 2025)
Kumakura spent three months based in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, where she closely observed and participated in the activities of Hyphen-, a research collective. She also visited numerous studios and collective spaces run by artists, curators, and researchers across the country. Through sustained dialogue and shared time, she developed deep mutual understanding and trust with those she encountered — a fellowship firmly rooted in the realities of local practice.

Tomomi ADACHI (Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia & Singapore | December 2025 – January 2026)
Adachi traveled across four countries, meeting and connecting with a wide range of musicians, artists and art practitioners, with a particular focus on those working in the field of experimental music. Through conversation and collaborative performance, he immersed himself in the experimental music and art scenes of each location, developing reflections and insights grounded in direct, embodied experience.

Both fellows intend to carry forward the relationships and connections formed during their fellowships — not as fleeting encounters, but as the foundation for ongoing engagement and future collaboration.
