Get the grub on the grill

Today, barbecue grilling isn't merely a trend, but a downright way of life for many Americans. And while a growing number of people toss steaks, hot dogs, seafood and veggies on the grill even when the weather is cold, the warmer temperatures of summer mean an even bigger contingent of us will take our cooking outdoors. So fire up the barbie with these tips for buying an outdoor grill. Here is a link for additional Grill information:

And remember, your local Ace Hardware has one of the largest selections of grills in Central Illinois.

Plant of the Month

Arriving at your local Ace hardware about the first of March will be the Eco Friendly Plant the Earth displays. The display will have Blue Berries, Raspberries, Grapes and Strawberries in bio-degradable pots. Try something different this year and surprise your family and friends with these great plants in your garden.

Spring Flower Tips

Most people can't wait for Spring to arrive. While you are waiting, plan your Spring Flower needs and be ready to plant at the first opportunity. To help, below is some information and a couple links for some great ideas.

Perennials

Perennials are hardy flowers known for their variety of colors, blooming times and bloom styles.  Unlike annuals, perennials last for several years. Most have fleshy stems and foliage that are killed by cold temperatures or summer heat. Their roots survive, though, which allows the plant to repeat it's growth cycle year after year.

 Annuals

Unlike perennials that bloom each spring, annuals usually die after a single season. This provides an opportunity for the gardeners to wipe the canvas clean every year and begin creating a colorful new master piece in bloom that lasts throughout the season.
