We do not know what came first, bread or beer? We do know that many scientists have said that it could have been the beer or whatever available form of fermented liquid that brought us together. Maybe it was not hunger that made us cooperate to grow crops. Maybe the fermentation killed the bacteria and was safer to drink than the water. We do know that the liquid called beer in the early days was served at almost every meal, and the very first settlers landed in Plymouth Rock because the ship was about to run out of beer.   

TMB requirement for Human Trafficking Prevention CE:
AHEC course approved and available! 

In February 2021, AHEC published a blog about the new Human Trafficking Prevention CE requirement effective 09/1/2020. Following the dissemination of this information, AHEC received numerous calls from Rad Techs inquiring about this new CE requirement.  Based on the volume of calls AHEC received over the last several months, it was apparent that TMB’s communications with Texas RTs wasn’t effective enough in reaching or explaining the new requirement.  

ARRT Announced Computed Tomography Exam Cut Score to change July1, 2021

Effective July 1, 2021 the ARRT will be begin using a new cut score for the CT exam. The scaled score will continue to be reported as a minimum of 75, however the minimum number of correct items is increasing by one.  This change is a result of new performance expectations for entry-level CT technologist.

Is Asking About Covid Vaccination a HIPAA Violation?

Should we return to a mask free workplace? Now we are using the honor system to determine who should be wearing a mask. It is contingent upon vaccination. But we are being discouraged from carrying our vaccination cards or wearing any identification that says we are vaccinated. Are we violating HIPAA if we disclose our vaccination status? Or ask for patient/employee vaccination status?
