Menomonee River Spring Clean-Up
Join All Hands Boatworks, Milwaukee Riverkeeper, and many other friends to help clean the Menomonee River!

   Saturday, April 23rd, 2016 from 9:00 - Noon

   Weather permitting, our sturdy fleet of row boats will be available for those who are interested in getting out on the river and pick-up trash at the same time. Lifejackets and a rowing guide provided.
   Meet at the entrance to All Hands Boatworks' boatyard, which is located in the northwest corner of the Emmber Lane Bridge. Parking is available in shared lot with Keep Greater Milwaukee Beautiful, and north along Mt. Vernon Ave.  The AHB boatyard is located adjacent to KGMB.  Map
   We will provide the bags, gloves, and FREE T-SHIRTS and YOU provide the hands and energy to pick up trash, litter, and the interesting and sometimes bizarre pieces of garbage that find their way into our beautiful river system. Grab a garbage bag and let's clean some river!

AHB Summer Programs

RiverVentures Teen Camp
June 20 - 24, 2016

Start your summer with an awesome outdoor program right here in the City! FREE for students entering 9th grade or currently enrolled in high school  Learn about environmental preservation, water conservation, careers, and carpentry through teamwork and creativity. RiverVentures Camp activities include:

• Build a real 12-foot wooden rowboat and explore the Menomonee River.
• Obtain service hours by participating in clean up and water quality testing.
• Learn about career opportunities in high demand fields of construction and water careers.
• Learn how macro-invertebrates give clues to the health of our rivers.
• Tour higher learning institutions and employers to learn about post high school options.

9 a.m - 4 p.m. daily
Lunch provided
FREE to qualifying high-school students
who live in the City of Milwaukee

   Here is a great opportunity for anyone interested in learning more about boat building and about All Hands Boatworks' youth development programs. AHB volunteers and newcomers will work on a boatbuilding project and/or other youth program-related projects.
   We meet every Thursday evening, starting at 5:30 p.m. Stay any time and feel free to come and go. No firm time commitment required.
   For this winter and spring, AHB is very grateful to have work space being provided at WRTP / Big Step, 3841 W. Wisconsin Ave.  Enjoy the camaraderie of boatbuilders, woodworkers, educators and philosophers! For more information, contact Bill at 262-290-0228.
 
 
Building2Learn
After-Math Education Program
 

     Looking for highly ENGAGING, hands-on LEARNING and FUN, while helping your students become more MATH proficient? 

All Hands Boatworks has several open slots for its Building2Learn small carpentry projects available to you.  Project sessions generally take place 2x per week over a six-week period.  Most suitable for students, ages 10-15.  

     Funding for the Building2Learn after-school program is largely provided through the MPS Partnership for the Arts and Humanities.
