Thomas T. Haydon
1956 - 2019 |

This month, All Hands Boatworks is dedicating its newsletter to one of its volunteer instructors, Tom Haydon. We are extremely saddened to announce that Tom Haydon passed away at home on May 7, 2019. A memorial service took place at Elmbrook Church May 10.
Many of us in the AHB community knew that Tom had been courageously living his life to its fullest through his cancer for nearly two years. He was 63.
Tom joined All Hands Boatworks as a volunteer in 2016 and quickly immersed himself in our programs and projects. For all of us fortunate enough to know him, we will miss him dearly, but we will also carry his example forward with us. Although he is no longer among us, his impact on our organization, his loved ones, and all who knew him is indelible, and we are far better individuals for it. |

The Tom Haydon Legacy Fund
All Hands Boatworks is establishing
The Tom Haydon Legacy Fund in his honor to support two areas that Tom cared deeply about:
The Craftsmanship Fund. Tom’s craftsmanship and his character were closely intertwined. His skills, positivity and extraordinary kindness influenced kids and adults alike. The Craftsmanship Fund will support the professional training and development of AHB staff and volunteer instructors in their efforts to develop both
good character and
craftsmanship in the youths in our programs.

The Internship Fund. This fund will assist young people, regardless of background, to learn and grow through AHB’s work-based experiences and training, either as high-school interns or as subsidized pre-apprentices.
