Now Hiring: APO Chapter Consultants

Alpha Phi Omega is in the process of hiring a Chapter Consultant. A Chapter Consultant is a self-motivated and enthusiastic member of APO who has strong leadership experience and a desire to enhance Fraternity growth. The person in this two-year position will travel to campuses across the country to provide chapters and extension efforts in the areas of program development, recruitment, retention, and officer training and transition. In addition to working with students, the Chapter Consultant will also facilitate goal setting sessions with advisory committee members and volunteer staff.

Youtopia: Track Service. Recognize Achievement. 

Youtopia is an incentive and engagement platform designed to inspire APO members to be more active and energized in their chapters, sections, regions, and National Fraternity.Youtopia tracks service, leadership, fellowship, and participation through chapter-created challenges and activities. Each member will receive points and badges for their individual participation and all service hours, leadership courses, and event attendance will be dynamically tracked within Youtopia for members to review at any time.

Region VII Officer's Prepare for Semester at Regional Officer Retreat 

During the weekend of August 23-25, 2013, 85 officers from 21 chapters in Region VII gathered at Parrie Haynes Ranch outside of Killen, Texas for the region's semi-annual Officer Retreat. Under the leadership of more than a dozen alumni volunteer staff, chapter officers participated in both small-and large-group training and development on a variety of topics. The weekend was designed to help officers be better leaders and to take programming ideas back to their chapters, as well as provide opportunities to make new friends and interact with staff. Alpha Phi Omega has designated the first week of November as National Service Week, in order to unify chapters with a national theme and to inspire expansion of chapter service programs. During this week every chapter is encouraged to carry out a new, high profile service project related to the program of emphasis and involving other chapters and the community.

The National Service Week program of emphasis for 2013 and 2014 is "APO Shows Respect to All."

Important Dates:
November 3-9, 2013 "Respect for Self"

CHAPTERS WITH SUBORDINATE EIN’S MUST FILE WITH IRS

There are a number of chapters that have lost their tax exempt status because the chapter failed to properly file with the IRS. The process to regain their tax-exempt status is costly and time consuming. Please be sure your chapter makes ANNUAL filing a part of chapter business!
