The fall before the National Convention tends to be a busy one. Chapters are working hard with the regular day-to-day business (such as providing THOUSANDS of hours of service!), and on top of that are preparing their chapter for representing their school at the Convention. Though a few officers may be experienced with pre-convention business, there are a great deal of you who are working through this for the first time.

The information in the October Officer Insider will help officer's prepare their chapters for the 2012 National Convention and help make the registration process go as smooth as possible.

Alpha Phi Omega is rolling out the red carpet for you - the stars of service - at the 42nd Biennial National Convention in Anaheim, California from December 27 through 30, 2012.

Brothers from across the country will walk the red carpet at the Fraternity's largest event, rich with the Cardinal Principles of Leadership, Friendship and Service. Registration is still open, however it's filling up fast so be sure to complete your registration TODAY!

All Chapters Must File with the Internal Revenue Service

Each year, all chapters or alumni associations must file a 990-N also known as the e-Postcard.  All chapters must file the e-Postcard by the 15th day of the 5 month from the chapter’s year end if the chapter has gross receipts greater than $50,000. 

If you do not know the chapter year end, an officer of the chapter must contact the IRS at 1-877-829-5500 and request the year end.  If you try to efile before the year end the form will be rejected by the IRS.
