 NOW OPEN: BakingTech 2018 Call for Papers!

ASB invites you to submit a paper proposal and share your knowledge, experience and solutions with industry representatives from around the nation at BakingTech 2018, "Sustainability - Success Through People, Products and Productivity", to be held February 25 - 27, 2018.  

We can all attest that the world is changing at a very rapid pace. SUSTAINABILITY can be seen in nearly every aspect of the grain-based food industry. This is your opportunity to take part in presenting ideas that ensure sustainable success for the Baking Industry through our People, Products and Productivity. The topics below are areas that will teach and better prepare us for the challenges as well as the opportunities that lie ahead!
We welcome all submissions, but will have the highest consideration for those papers addressing the subjects specified in the above list. Visit our website to learn more about the above listed topics and call for papers, and submit your proposal today. The submission site will remain open until May 16.
 ASB Engineer and Maintenance Scholarships 

ASB is continuing its Engineering/Maintenance Scholarship Program for 2017/18.  Your summer engineering student interns and maintenance/machinist employees can apply for five $4,000 scholarships to help them reach their educational goals and advancement within your company.

If you have a summer internship program for engineering students and/or a relationship with an engineering program at a nearby university, please share this program with them and encourage them to apply.  If current machinists and maintenance employees are interested in continuing their education and enhancing their skills by attending a program at a trade, vocational school or community college, please encourage them to apply.

The deadline for applying is June 1, 2017.  Selections will be made July 1 and awards will be made in time for the 2017/18 school year.  Please share this either your HR director and other colleagues within your company.

 Save the Date: 2017/18 Membership Renewal Season Opens Soon!

Mark your calendars today because July 1 officially opens the 2017/18 renewal season.  

For the second year in a row, you'll be able to renew as early as June.  On the June 1 emails will be sent to all eligible members that renewal orders have been placed in accounts and are available for payment.

In Memory Of:
Edward Anthony Alesch

Edward Alesch passed away early Sunday, February 26, 2017, in Austin, Texas at the age of 96.

Edward was born on January 30, 1921 in Appleton, Wisconsin to Edward A. (Sr.) and Helen Alesch.  He started working in bakeries at age 12 to help support the family.  He continued working in the baking industry until he closed his consulting business P-T services, Inc. at the age of 92.
