2011 Baking Hall of Fame Inductees

It is with much pride that the American Society of Baking announces the 2011 Inductees into the Baking Hall of Fame: James Apple, Butter Krust Baking Company; E.E. Kelley, ButterKrust Bakery Lakeland; Ken Klosterman, Klosterman Baking Company; and Alexander Weber, Caravan Products.

Forty candidates where nominated at large by the baking community in recognition of contributions to commercial baking through science, engineering, baking operations and industry service.

The four Inductees will be honored during a ceremony on March 7, 2011 at the Chicago Marriott Downtown as part of Opening Session of BakingTech, ASB's annual conference.

The Baking Hall of Fame was created to recognize the entrepreneurial spirit of individuals who have profoundly impacted the baking industry.  It is dedicated in appreciation to all who contribute countless hours of time and energy in the creative pursuit of baking.  The Hall is intended to serve as a source of inspiration and innovation.

In October of 2006, the hall officially opened at the American Institute of Baking in Manhattan, KS.  Since that time the Baking Hall of Fame has inducted a total of 35 members all of whom have influenced the baking industry.

The Baking Hall of Fame is a resource to inspire future generations.  We ask you to join us in congratulating the 2011 Inductees and to share in the continued celebration of the Baking Hall of Fame.  More information about the Baking Hall of Fame and the American Society of Baking can be found at www.asbe.org.
