Where will the wholesale baking industry find qualified bakers to run their bakeries in the future? ASB Executive Director Kent Van Amburg participated in the Future Farmers of America Career Fair in Manhattan, KS on May 30 to try and answer that question. Along with Julia Sprouse, a senior in the Baking Science and Management program at KSU, Dr. Becky Miller – BSM Professor and Aaron Clanton from AIB, Kent taught FFA delegates how to knead dough while sharing information about baking educational opportunities at KSU and AIB. The FFA Career Fair is part of the larger initiative by ASB to promote baking as a career choice at high schools, community colleges, vocational schools and universities.
