Below is the letter sent to ASB members on November 1 by the Executive Committee to answer some of the questions that have been raised about the Partnership Program:

November 1, 2012

Dear Allied Supporters,

We would like to take this opportunity to reach out and discuss our new Partnership Program with you.  The American Society of Baking strives to give the Allied and Baker members the best conference possible.  We believe if we can increase the number of Bakers that attend; this would benefit the Allied members as well as ASB.  With the ongoing consolidation of bakeries, it has decreased the number of Bakers that attend each year.  Each Baking company determines how many employees they can afford to send each year and we would like to assist those bakeries in sending additional employees.

MarketPlace 2013

A special note to our MarketPlace tabletop exhibitors.  Starting for BakingTech 2013, ASB will be instating the following policy concerning tabletop assignments:

For Returning Exhibitors

ASB will offer exhibitors participating in past BakingTech conferences the opportunity to be assigned to the same tabletop as they've had in previous years.  To take advantage of this opportunity, ASB must receive an exhibitor application/contract agreement and required full payment by Friday, December 14.

Should a returning exhibiting company not submit an exhibitor application/contract agreement by December 14, their previous tabletop assignment will be forfeited and will not be guaranteed for MarketPlace 2013.

How MarketPlace 2013 TableTops will be assigned after December 14

ASB will assign tabletops from new companies and those returning companies, who chose not to participate in returning exhibitor program, on a first-come, first serve basis until sold out.

MarketPlace exhibitor applications are how being accepted.  In order to take advantage of the early-bird registration rate, exhibitor applications must be received by February 1, 2013Register now!
Bakers Product Display Survey

ASB Baker Members:

In previous years, ASB use to host a Bakery Foods Display during BakingTech, which provided attendees an opportunity to view bakery products made by baker members.  This program was a highlight and integral part of the Conference and the ASB and MarketPlace Committee are looking to revitalize the program starting with BakingTech and MarketPlace in 2015.

If it's decided to revitalize the Bakers Product Display, this will be held during the traditional MarketPlace hours in the Exhibit Hall and would be a shared space for baker products.

We are trying to assess the level of interest of our baker members in participating in the Bakers Product Display. Please take 5 minutes to participate in a brief survey by clicking on the link below.  Providing answers to these questions will help us gather information and in no way obligates you to participate in the program.

Baker Membership Postcard Applications

Watch your mailboxes for an important packet from ASB, which will arrive within the next two weeks!

The Society is instituting a new membership recruitment campaign effort, which requires your participation to be successful.  As bakers, you personally know the networking and educational benefits of belonging to the Society and which of your fellow bakers would benefit from being a member of ASB.  If you are an allied member you know bakers who are currently not ASB members, but whom you would like the opportunity to meet with during BakingTech and particularly during the MarketPlace.

Enclosed in the packet you will find 2 "wholesale baker" membership applications in the form of postcards.  We encourage you to distribute these free memberships (a $185 value) as gifts to your clients and/or colleagues who work for wholesale bakers and have never been ASB members and have never attended BakingTech.  All recipients have to do is complete and drop the postcard in the mail to begin the first year of their ASB journey.

Quote: Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life.  It turns what we have into enough, and more.  It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity.  It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, and a stranger into a friend.  Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow. -Melody Beattie

A vision for tomorrow:

ASB Vision Statement- To create an environment for educating, communicating and sharing knowledge for the enhancement of our members and the industry we serve.

ASB hopes our members had a grateful and Blessed Thanksgiving.
