Issue #14 November 17, 2010
"What's New?"
  • BakingTech 2011 - MarketPlace and Meeting Registration.  Meeting registration opened on November 12.  Bruce Campbell with AMF Bakery was the first member to register.  Meeting registration forms are available on the website: www.asbe.org.  You can register and pay directly on the website or fax/mail forms with credit card information or a check to ASB Headquarters.  You must have already renewed your membership or do so during the meeting registration process.

Registration for the BakingTech 2011 MarketPlace is open.  Exhibitor registration forms and guidelines are on the website: www.asbe.org.  You can register and pay directly on the website or fax/mail the forms to ASB Headquarters.  The MarketPlace Tabletops sold out the past two years, so don't wait and possibly miss the opportunity to showcase your company and products.

BakingTech 2011 is being held at the same time as a major housewares trade show in Chicago.  Please make your dinner reservations well in advance as competition for prime times at good restaurants will be great.  You may make your restaurant reservations in advance by clicking here.

If you have any questions, please contact Tawnee Shuey, Director of Meetings and Operations, at 1.800.713.0462 ext 2 or tshuey@asbe.org.
  • Member Get A Member Campaign.  Do you know three bakers who are not members of ASB, but should be?  Send ASB their names and email addresses and we will send you a $10 Starbucks Gift Card.  To access the contact forms and sample email that you can use to invite them to become members of ASB, please click on the following links: Contact Forms and Sample Email.  The ASB member who helps recruit the most new members will receive complimentary registration to BakingTech 2012.  Please email the completed contact form to Amanda Gonzalez, Membership Manager, at agonzalez@asbe.org.
  • Update Your Member Profile Today.  Member Profiles: Your help is needed to insure that quality information is available to the researchers conduction the ASB Member Demographic Study.  Please take the time to update your profile on the website.  Please complete your profile to include at a minimum your current company, position, primary email and phone, business type category and years in the industry.  All of this information will help make results of the study more meaningful and will assist the ASB staff in making sure all membership communications reach you so you do not miss out on member benefits and programs.

  • Member News.  Have you recently been promoted, changed companies, moved locations or have other news that you would like shared with your friends at ASB?  Send us a succinct email with the details and we will put your message in our next newsletter.
Please only send us personal news, not company news such as marketing of new products and services.
  • Robert A. Fischer Distinguished Service Award. The Robert A. Fischer Distinguished Award recognizes outstanding service and leadership by a member to the Society.  Any member of ASB may nominate a candidate based on the following qualifications.
