Register Now for Autos on Valhalla

Sun, Sept 28th

Valhalla Cemetery, 7600 St. Charles Rock Rd,
St. Louis

Now in its fourth year, Autos on Valhalla will again be held on Sunday, September 28th at Valhalla Cemetery on St. Charles Rock Road. All proceeds benefit Ride On St. Louis, a comprehensive therapy, conditioning and learning non-profit organization serving adults and children with diagnosed mental and physical disbilities.

In previous years, this growing car show has attracted a great variety of automobiles, including  collector, antique, custom, muscle and sports cars.  Due to greater participation on the show committee by members of some of St. Louis' largest car clubs. we expect an even greater variety this year.

Additionally, the show committee has invited local car clubs to participate as car club sponsors and your Audi Club will be there.

Like the country’s most prestigious car shows, the cars will be displayed on grass, arrayed on rolling hills surrounding a beautiful lake. The judges will present Unique Awards for categories unlike those of any other auto show you have attended.

Preregistration is $25, Day of Show $35.  All fees are tax deductible.  Registration forms are available at the Audi Club website.

For more information, visit the Autos on Valhalla Facebook page.
St. Louis Metro Cars & Coffee
Sat, Aug 16th
7:45 - 9:45 am

Starbucks, 9616 Manchester Rd., Rock Hill

The fifth Cars and Coffee of the season will be held on Saturday, August 16th at the Starbucks in the Market at McKnight
shopping center at 9616 Manchester - just west of the McKnight / Rock Hill Road intersection.

Due to the popularity of this event, the organizers, in cooperation with the merchants and owners of the Market at McKnight, have made a few changes to the format. Many of these changes were in place in June and worked well.

NEW TIME - 7:45 to 9:45 am

We will now end at 9:45 a.m. instead of 10. This will allow for more parking for Market at McKnight merchants, from whom we borrow the lot and pay nothing. This is not a public park - we are guests there.

Leave 4 empty spaces in each row in front of ALL businesses...down the entire “shop road” on that south side of the lot. This is very important!

Any parking in any handicap or employee parking spots will result in a parking ticket.

As you see someone arriving, please tell others to not park in the open spaces in front of the merchants.

Cars & Coffee is a fun, low-key event. Everyone gathers early on Saturday, rain or shine, to just enjoy our cars, have coffee and get out and drive when traffic is a LOT less. It starts early...and ends early so everyone back home is happy that you are not wasting the whole day. Stay for the morning, or leave when you must.
Open to all makes & marques. Cars & Coffee not a show or concourse. It’s just a gathering of auto enthusiasts enjoying “Cars & Coffee”. For information, visit www.facebook.com/groups/stlmetrocarsndcoffee/

In September and October, Cars & Coffee will move to a new location and start at a new time.  Starting on September 20th, the south parking lot at Westport Plaza will be the new location for Cars & Coffee, and it will run from 8 to 10 am.

Check the facebook page for updates.

July Wrap Up

Membership Meeting at Six Row Brewing - July 9

Six Row Brewing hosted our July board and membership meeting was held in their upstairs meeting room.  We thank the staff for their hospitality and great service.

During the meeting, where several new members were present, subjects covered included our chapter's growing membership, the chapter newsletters, a discussion about past and upcoming events, upcoming changes to Cars & Coffee (new location starting in September). the possibility of revival of a Driving School Committee and notice that the Nominating Committee is beginning their work.

Tire Rack Street Survival Teen Driving School - July 12th & 13th

Several chapter members again participated as instructors and volunteers for the both the SCCA and BMW Tire Rack Street Survival Teen Driving Schools in July.  Thanks to the efforts of this program and these volunteers, there are now an additional 70 young drivers in the St. Louis area that better understand the dynamics of car control in emergency situations and are safer drivers.

If you wish to help with this great program, the SCCA is hosting another School this weekend and the BMW club will host another on October 4th.

St. Geneveive Wine Tour - July 12th

A small group of chapter members gathered in Festus for an enjoyable drive to Charleville Vineyard near Ste. Geneveive.  The drive followed some of Jefferson, St. Francois and Ste. Geneveieve counties' more interesting roads.  A mix of challenging and comfortable, but scenic, roads made for a great drive.

Upon arrival at Charleville Vinyards, we participated in a wine tasting, chose our food and drinks and retired to the rustic covered patio overlooking the vineyard and the Saline Creek Valley.  Although the day was a bit warmer than we have experienced this summer, it was still sunny and comfortable, making for a great afternoon.

If you enjoy your Audi on the road, and great food and drink, don't miss our next wine country tour, this time to the Augusta area, on October 11th.

St. Louis Metro Cars & Coffee - July 19th

The fourth Cars & Coffees of the 2014 Season was held at Starbucks in Rock Hill on the morning of Saturday, July 19th and, like the event befores it, based on the number of cars in attendance, was a huge success.

The sheer size of this event had begun to cause problems with the merchants at the Market at McKnight, the shopping center we have been using since the inception of this event.  To resolve these issues, we had to implement new rules in May and June.  Basically, we are now leaving open the first four parking spaces on every row closest to the storses on the south side of the lot.  These spots are
left open for the use of the merchants and their customers.   Additionally, parking is not allowed in any handicapped or employee of the month spot.

The next Cars & Coffee will be held on August 16th.  Be sure to bring your Quattro out.  Also watch our newsletters and the St Louis Metro Cars & Coffee Facebook pages for upcoiming changes to this event.

Membership has its rewards. ACNA offers many additional benefits, including $500 Member Loyalty Bonus, Brooks Brothers Corporate Membership Card, Office Supply Savings at Office Depot Additionally, some local dealers offer discounts on parts and service to members. Become a member today
