Presidential Notes:
With the Independence Day holiday, the St. Louis Audi Club will take a short break from club activites, but on July 9th, we'll be combining business with fun for our General Membership Meeting at Pole Position Raceway.
After a short business meeting, members will enjoy a few sessions on Pole Position's indoor kart track. I've run a few sessions at Pole Position myself and have really enjoyed it. The equipment is top quality and well maintained, the track layout great, and they run sessions for drivers of all skill levels.
Since many club members also enjoy shooting sports, Tom Treishmann has arranged for Top Gun Shooting Sports to host an open shoot for us on the 13th.
For the track junkies in the club, two other local car clubs have invited our members to register for events they're running at Gateway this month. Check out the stories below about the SCCA's PDX and St. Louis Cobra Club's RunNGun.
We've got some great events coming up. Be sure to mark your calendar and check out what the St. Louis Audi Club has to offer. I look forward to seeing you all soon.

General Membership Meeting
Tuesday July 9th

Pole Position Raceway, 8800 Watson Rd, Crestwood
Join your fellow Audi Club members for some fun and business, too.
Pole Position Raceway will host this month's General Membership Meeting. After a short meeting, we'll hit the track for a little fun (or competitive) go kart racing.
Although there is no cost to attend our meeting, track time will cost about $20 per session. Note: Some refreshments are available trackside from vending machines.

St. Louis SCCA
Performance Driving Experience (PDX)
Wednesday July 17th
3:00pm
Gateway Motorsports Park 700 Raceway Blvd, Madison, IL
A performance driving experience is an opportunity to work with an instructor and get practice in car handling and precision driving in your own car. This is a non-competitive, un-timed event.
Drivers will be grouped by prior experience. For safety, drivers are required to wear a helmet, long sleeve shirt and long pants.

Open Range Shoot

Shooting enthusiasts among the St. Louis Audi Club members will enjoy an evening of target practice on Saturday July 13th. We have reserved several lanes at Top Gun Shooting Range for a few hours of fun and practice.
Top Gun's range is rated for pistols and rifles and has a great selection of handguns for your use. Ammo and supplies are also available at the range.

Our Friends at the Gateway Cobra Club have invited Audi Club members to participate in their annual Kit Car national event, the RunNGun. Activities are open to all cars.
That’s right folks, RunNGun.us is finally back in St. Louis at the new and improved Gateway Motorsports Park. That means you’ll be running at a first class NASCAR quality facility around the banked oval road course. And we brought back drag racing, and SCCA auto cross. This year you’ll get more run sessions, more laps, and more events than ever before. Plus, every competitor receives a high-quality, specially-produced event t-shirt, and included transponder rental. A special treat will be the included gourmet catered banquet – at the track.
The new and improved points system means that every single competitor has a real shot for the Grand Championship title. If you have a good weekend and compete successfully in your class, you are definitely in the running. We have more classes for any level of driver. Since we last spoke....
St. Louis Audi Club members enjoyed several great club events in June.
The St. Louis European was held on June 2nd. Those members in attendance were treated to another great show with near-perfect weather. The show boasted nearly 250 of the best local European cars including a 1957 Ferrari that competed at LeMans.
The Audi Club lost the President's bet with the BMW club, where the Presidents of the two clubs bet that the BMW Club, with over 400 members, couldn't enter twice as many cars as the Audi Club (55 members). With 36 BMWs and only 9 Audis entered, the BMW Club won the bet. Our club proudly donated an extra $50 to Shriners Hospital.
I'm proud to say, that my wife, Gail Warren won the trophy for the Best Audi with her Brilliant Red A4.
Thanks to all who entered their cars, volunteered, or visited the show.
Several club members had a great afternoon on our road trip to Warm Springs Ranch near Booneville. Warm Springs is the Anheuser Busch Clydesdale breeding facility.
At the ranch, we met several of AB's beautiful clydesdales, including Rip, a four and a half week old male with great character and two foals which were less than two weeks old.
After the ranch, we traveled to Columbia and ate lunch at the Old Heidelburg Restaurant and stopped in Kingdom City for ice cream. If you missed out this time, be sure to make this trip if you can.
Our Social night at Fox and Hound in Chesterfield was well attended.
Cars & Coffee was again a great get-together with drivers of nearly 150 cars of all makes getting together for early morning conversation. If you haven't made it out to a C&C, you are really missing a great "car show".
So far, 2013 has provided members with many great opportunities to enjoy the company of many like-minded people, have fun with our cars, and in general, Celebrate everything Audi. The remainder of the year promises even more. |

More Upcoming Events. We hope to have a full calendar of events this year but we will need your help to make that happen. All our social events and meetings are open to everyone, member or not. However, you will have to be a member to participate in drives or track events.
