St. Louis Audi Club Newsletter
September

Presidential Notes:

Summer is nearly over and the school year has started and Gail and I have already been to our first Mizzou home game of the season (100 degrees at game time!).  Soon the weather will begin to cool, leaves will fall and autumn will arrive.  After a short lull in activites, things have begun to pick up here at the St. Louis Audi Club.

We'll start next weekend with the BMW Club's second Street Survival Teen Driving School on Saturday, followed quickly by our General Membership Meeting next Tuesday.  The weekend of the 21st brings ChumpCar Racing to back to Gateway and St. Louis Metro Cars & Coffee to Rock Hill.  SCCA's PDX program continues on the 25th while their second Street Survival School is on the 29th.  Those of us inclined to enjoy good wine and food after a nice drive in the country will want to be at our Chandler HIll Winery Tour on the 28th.

October will also be busy with the ACNA Frank Beddor Nationals in Nashville the 2nd through the 6th and, for those who stay home, the Autos on Valhalla Car Show on the 6th.  Following quickly, our Audi Club Social is on the 7th.  Track junkies will want to participate in the PCA's driving school at Gateway the weekend of the 12th.  All this is followed on the 19th by the final Cars & Coffee of the 2013 season.

Needless to say, things are picking up the next couple of months.  Be sure to come out and enjoy some "Quattroriffic" fun with your fellow Audi fans this season.

Cars & Coffee
Saturday Sept. 21st
8:15am

Starbucks, 9616 Manchester Rock Hill, MO

Be sure to come on out to the St. Louis Metro Cars and Coffee.  This event is open to all makes and models of sporting cars.  We are setting new records, in August, over 210 cars and their drivers showed up.  There are only 2 Cars & Coffees left in 2013.  Be sure to come on out.

Cars & Coffee is a bunch of auto enthusiasts gathering early Saturdays, rain or shine, at a central location to just enjoy cars and conversation.  Low key and a lot of fun.

Street Survival Teen Driving School
Sunday Sept. 29th

Family Arena 2002 Arena Pkwy  St Charles, MO

Tire Rack Street Survival goes beyond antiquated high-school driver education programs, which put more focus on classroom theory and parallel parking rather than controlling a two-ton vehicle at speed.

The primary emphasis of the Tire Rack Street Survival program is a “hands-on” driving experience in real-world situations! We use your own car to teach you about its handling limits and how you can control them.

The students will become more observant of the traffic situation they find themselves in. They will learn to look far enough ahead to anticipate unwise actions of other drivers. As the students master the application of physics to drive their cars, they will make fewer unwise driving actions themselves. They will understand why they should always wear their own seatbelts, and why they should insist that their passengers wear seatbelts, too.

It’s about more than driving – it’s about living!

The Tire Rack Street Survival school is a safe teen program designed to go beyond today’s required driver’s education and give teens across the U.S. the driving tools and hands-on experience to become safer, smarter drivers. Trained and qualified in-car driving instructors as well as classroom experience for each student.

If you can volunteer, contact Carla Russo at grail_girl@yahoo.com or (314) 616-6313.

Registration for students for all Street Survival schools is open now at streetsurvival.org/school-schedule-registration/.
