PAEMST Awards

Nominations are now open for the 2017 Presidential awards. This is the year for teachers of grades 7-12. If you know any potential candidates, please nominate them at PAEMST.org

CMC Awards

The Begle Award was presented at the Asilomar conference to Dr. Tom Sallee. He was one of the founders of the Northern California Math Project at UC Davis and was Principal Investigator for CPM.

We had two Polya Awardees this year. Tina Shinsato was awarded at Palm Springs and Natalie Mejia was awarded at Asilomar. Not only are both exceptional teachers, both have been active in CMC. Tina was most recently CMC South Treasurer and a CMC Board Member. Natalie is currently the chair of the Student Activity Trust Fund and a current Board Member.

Celebrate Mathematics: Host a Math Festival This Year!

ALL OF YOUR STUDENTS AND ALL OF YOUR FAMILIES CAN HAVE FUN DOING MATH AT A MATH FESTIVAL!
A Math Festival is a powerful, cost-effective way to bring all of your students, teachers, and families together to experience a Common Core based math fair. A Math Festival is not an assembly on the stage—we set up a dozen or more multi-grade problem-solving activities with tons of hands-on materials for your students and families to DO MATH!

YOUR MATH FESTIVAL WILL REQUIRE NO EXTRA WORK FOR YOUR TEACHERS OR STAFF. With the assistance of just one of your teacher-leaders, we do it all and bring everything you need for a successful school-wide math event. Your student Math Festival and Family Math Festival will be two of the easiest events your school has ever held!
ALL K–6 or 6–8 STUDENTS AND THEIR PARENTS CAN CHALLENGE THEIR MINDS IN A MATH FESTIVAL! A Mathematics Festival can provide meaningful parent outreach and direct involvement as required by state and federal programs. It's perfect for Title 1, PTA/PTO, and local foundation funding because ALL your students, ALL your teachers, and ALL your families can be directly involved in challenging activities for all ability levels from transitional kindergarten to adult.
