EMMA CARPENTER

The PEAK Mentoring program would like to take this time to give an update on the events for July 2021. The program made one new match this month bringing the current total of matches to 9 and mentors are reporting positive results from the mentees. John Kob is our newest mentor and has a decorated past serving 31 years as a Marine in the United States Military. As a Drill Instructor, John has trained thousands of soldiers to be Marines and Navy Seals. Also, John was part of the Presidential Helicopter Squadent to sum up his career in the United States Marine Corps. Thank you John for your service and for being a caring adult in a kiddo’s life! The program had to say goodbye to it’s feeding program this month, but we gave out over 6,000 free meals and activities in 13 months. If you are interested in becoming a PEAK Mentor and developing a positive relationship with an at-risk youth or know a kiddo that can benefit from our program. Please contact Shannon Payne at elizabethtonmentors@cartercountydrugprevention.org or call 423-791-8674.
PROGRAM SPOTLIGHT

Triple P Parenting Program

Triple P is a parenting program, but it does not tell you how to be a parent. It is more like a toolbox of ideas. You choose the strategies you need. You choose the way you want to use them. It is all about making Triple P work for you.

Triple P helps you:

  • Raise happy, confident kids
  • Manage misbehavior so everyone in the family enjoys life more
  • Set rules and routines that everyone respects and follows
  • Encourage behavior you like
  • Take care of yourself as a parent
  • Feel confident you’re doing the right thing
