A message from the CMCS director

A Man's Need To Grow In Holiness

Dear CMCS-Men and Friends,
As a young boy, I spent several years assisting my father in organizing events for the Knights of Columbus, a worldwide Catholic fraternal service organization. This experience had a profound impact on me and made me aware of the importance of a man’s journey toward holiness
Fostering a man's journey toward holiness can lead to significant positive changes, shaping him into a respectable man, husband, or father. The effects of these transformations can resonate for three generations, reminding us that we are all continually evolving.
In 2004, I collaborated with Bishop Joseph Perry and Deacon John Rangel to create the vision for Bishop Perry's Catholic Chicago Men's Forum, as well as the mission of the Catholic Men Chicago Southland (CMCS) Apostolate, aimed at fostering the spirituality of Catholic men in the Chicago Southland region, and then online.

We live in a crazy world today, like a war zone in some of our neighborhoods. It's hard to keep one's head during these difficult and bewildering times. And the more crazy things get, the more CMCS is a voice that speaks to local Catholic men when they are looking for a better way.

Throughout the years, I have lost track of how the influence of CMCS has inspired men to take action in their lives. This includes striving to be holy and courageous, enhancing their marriages, becoming better fathers, cultivating virtue, generously serving others, actively participating in their parishes, and being responsible citizens.
This Sunday, April 27, 2025, we celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday, which also marks the end of our Lenten matching gift campaign. A generous donor is willing to match your contributions up to $800. We are nearing our goal, making this an ideal moment to 'double your dollars' for CMCS.
Will you assist CMCS in remaining steadfast and moving forward during these challenging and uncertain times? We kindly ask you to consider contributing to CMCS through a donation. By doing so, you are also aiding a man's journey toward holiness.

With Gratitude,

Frank J Casella, Executive Director Catholic Men Chicago Southland
