CMCS Manhood Mail
August 12, 2019
God has called you through the Gospel
to possess the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ
2Thes. 2:14

This mail is the first of a new feature that you will get directly from me each Monday. It's just a short note of encouragement about 'Living the Goodness of a Catholic Man' to help you to begin each week. So, lets get started!

When we walk around with the glory of our Lord people can tell the difference. This is your choice that you make every day. When you do, pray for Him to show you His glory, and he will teach you to love like he does.

For example, I visited a man who works the counter at a home decor store where the contractors pick up supplies. While waitiing to talk, one contractor told another 'Don't use that foul language, because Carl doesn't like it'.   So once I got to talking with Carl I asked him about this, and he said "I don't talk that way, nor engage it, and they picked up on it".

Do you possess the glory of our Lord?  You may have heard the quote "preach the Gospel and if necessary use words".  You may never know who your actions speak to.

Like when my son was in grade school, we went to the food store for some items. There were shopping carts all over the lot. So my son decided to put them all in the cart corral. When he was done we found the owner of the store meet us at the front door. He wanted to pay my son for all the work he did, and told him to come find a job when he is old enough.

It is August and with the winding down of summer, its a good time to think about joining, or starting, a parish men's group. Often times, if you take the first step you might be surprised who joins you. Please let me know how CMSC can be of assistance, or to brain storm ideas.

Finally, a programing note, with these monday mails the send rate for emails from CMCS will change to one to three times a week. If you wish you click the unsubsribe link below, note you remove yourself to get all the mails from us.

CMCS does not have secgmented lists, becuase we believe that Catholic means community, so we share all topics with everybody. For example, there are several groups in your parish, but thay all worship together in community at Sunday Mass.

Make it a great week!

CMCS Executive Director

Finding Your Voice

Finding Your Voice

We have so many messages today grabbing for our attention.

Likewise, we have our own contribution to make a positive difference in the world. Notes, texts, social media, blogs, journals, and yes, e-mails.

Chasing after activity can be exhausting. This is why I say, just do it for yourself, and if others listen that is okay too.

What this does is, once you and I are gone, the people who miss us will have a record of the person that we were.

As Catholic Men, how we live our lives can have an impact three generations deep.

Thanks for reading.  Enjoy your day.

“CMCS has been a great help in my walk with Christ on a daily basis.  I am surrounded by secular surroundings everyday and CMCS brings me “home.”  This group of men keep me grounded and express charity and humility, which is not easy to find these days.  The opportunity to listen to the wisdom of Bishop Perry is always enlightening and helps me in my growth in understanding the beauty of the Catholic faith.”

“My benefit from CMCS comes from the community of men I gather with and, our shared, interests, desires, and struggles with leading a Christian life.  Our community helps me realize that I am not alone as I strive to be a servant of God.  In this age where we race from chore to chore, and responsibility to responsibility CMCS provides me an opportunity to take time and think about God.  A time to step back to think about where I am at, where I have been, and where I want to be in God’s eyes when I enter eternity.  Of course the wisdom and guidance provided to us through the words of Bishop Perry are as the commercial says ………….. PRICELESS.”
