From Today's Readings:
Monday of the Twenty-eighth Week in Ordinary Time
Alleluia PS 95:8
R. Alleluia, alleluia.
If today you hear his voice,
harden not your hearts.
R. Alleluia, alleluia.
During my college days and sometime after, I developed a love for luxury cars. I was obsessed, in fact, with every detail and its appearance. I also lost my interest in going to Mass, and became “too busy” for doing the Lord’s work.
I learned a VERY expensive lesson ….
All of us have a heart for God, and when we fill our hearts with something other than Him, we lose hearing His voice fully and thus harden our hearts.
There is nothing wrong with owning nice things, as long as we keep it in right perspective. Not to become attached to our possessions until they ‘possess’ us, but to know and love Christ more.
