A Message from the CMCS Director.
Vision: To Cultivate the Spiritual Growth of Catholic Men in the Chicago Southland
Dear CMCS Men and Friends,

As I look back on 2025, I am filled with gratitude to God and to each of you for the remarkable impact we've achieved together through Catholic Men Chicago Southland (CMCS). I feel particularly honored by the support and encouragement of our 'new' Bishop Mark Bartosic in the past year, who has been invaluable to both me and this apostolate. Additionally, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the dedicated CMCS Team, whose sincerity and engagement in this vital work truly make a difference.
This year has been truly impactful for the CMCS mission as we have worked to uplift Catholic men with the fundamentals of our faith throughout the Chicago Southland, the Archdiocese, and among Chicagoland transplants living across the globe. Especially with young adult men. As we step into our 22nd year, we are just beginning our journey!

In the coming year, our primary focus is on empowering men to express the significance of Jesus in their lives and to communicate the transformative influence He has had on them. This initiative is designed to provide meaningful Catholic inspiration for ' Living the Goodness of a Catholic Man.'

So, we ask you, as so eloquently said at the Men's Mass: Is Christ the center of your life? How come?
Our logo has always been designed with a clear purpose: the four letters of CMCS encircle the crucifix, symbolizing that Christ is at the heart of everything we do.

So stay tuned for future email messages, and share them with others, or keep them in an inbox folder to read again later. This is how you overwhelmingly shared in our recent survey that we communicate with you. And makes sense, because Email is the largest and most diverse online social network. (Unlike social media platforms which are the ultimate vendor lock-in. As you confirmed in the survey.)
We invite you to be part of our mission too by making an online donation to the Catholic Men Chicago Southland Apostolate, helping us make 2026 an even greater year. Bishop Bartosic and the CMCS team are keeping you and your family in our prayers; we kindly ask that you remember us in yours as well.

Catholic Man Moment Message

December 28, 2025

Feast of the Holy Family, Jesus, Mary and Joseph.

Topic: Embracing Trials for Our Spiritual Growth and Well-Being.

The Gospel of Matthew 2:13-15; 19-23 highlights the significance of the Holy Family during the Christmas season. The Church dedicates this Sunday to remembering Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, emphasizing the importance of imitating their virtues. Despite being God's closest friends and the holiest family in history, they faced numerous earthly challenges and hardships. Their story, which includes fleeing to Egypt to escape Herod's wrath, serves as a message of encouragement and hope for Catholics. It reminds us that even in the face of adversity, we should be willing to suffer and persevere for our eternal well-being.
