Knowing Your Mission.
Being a central figure in the gospel isn't always what it's cracked up to be. John the Baptist, who preached against sin and preached the coming of the one who would solve all of humanity's problems, found himself sidelined in the end.
In the Gospel this past Sunday, his testimony is totally centralised on Christ. John's proclamation about who he is and what he represents is very important in the end. So, if you want to be an effective and respected gospel witness, be aware of your mission and stick to it.
As Catholic men, we are called to serve our Mission and Identity: Son of God, Husband, Dad.
Catholic Men Chicago Southland Apostolate was established in order to provide support and guidance mainly for Catholic men in the Southland area. We believe that through our messages and resources, we can help men prudently navigate their mission in this tumultuous world. We rely on the generosity of our participants and readers to keep us operating.
Even as John the Baptist gives witness to live in obedience to Christ's mandate, we have encouraged you to do the same - to be a witness to Christ and the Glory of God, and not draw attention to ourselves. We greatly appreciate the men who have attended our events, read our blog, and shared our emails.
We are only as effective as the men who hear and experience our message and respond. If you feel your life has been impacted by CMCS and want to say thank you, and help us reach even more men, please consider making a generous donation, and keep our team in your prayers as you remain in ours this new year!
Thank you for your continued support!
