From Today's Readings:

Alleluia Mt 5:16

R. Alleluia, alleluia.
Let your light shine before others,
that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father.
R. Alleluia, alleluia.

I recently had a contractor working on remodeling my house due to some storm damage. One of his laborers is really an impressive worker.

For example, at the end of the day he spent well over one hour cleaning up until everything was spotless, the way he found it at the start of the day.

And the job was not done, as he was coming back the next day.

I mentioned to him, when he was done, what an impressive job he did.  Right away he said, “Yes! Do you know why?”   …

“Because, I don’t work for my boss, I work for Jesus Christ” …

“I care for the home the way Christ cares for the home owner”.

Thus with the scripture for today, by their deeds the disciples are to influence the world for good. They can no more escape notice than a city set on a mountain.

If they fail in good works, they are as useless as flavorless salt or as a lamp whose light is concealed.

But whoever lives the truth comes to the light, so that his works may be clearly seen as done in God.   - John 3:21

Thanks for Reading.

What is Confience

Confidence is known as a feeling of self-assurance arising from appreciation of one's own abilities or qualities.

Something you may not know about me, is that I was very shy as a child. In fact, from pre-school through maybe fifth grade I didn't talk much in school, if at all.

Much of why I am a photographer is because I used pictures to share how I see the world. In talking, I didn't have trust that people cared about what I had to say.

Then one day, a very gifted teacher had a chat with me and this helped to build the confidence I needed.

Today, because of positions I hold in the community, I am sometimes asked to speak in public, often times in front of hundreds of people.

Confidence to me is the ability to do what we are capable of with the strength that God gives us.

I hope these words are helpful to you and provide confidence where you need it most.
