Vision:
To Foster Catholic Men's Spirituality in Chicago Southland

Bishop Perry's Men's Forum and
Lenten Matching Gift Almsgiving

Dear CMCS Men and Friends,
April 26th is just around the corner, and the 21st Annual Bishop Perry Catholic Men's Forum is approaching fast! Don’t delay—register today and bring a friend or encourage other men from your parish to join. Simply forward this email for quick and easy outreach!
Men who have participated in the past have expressed how uplifting the forum discussions are, providing a chance to connect and share experiences on their spiritual journeys.
This event is designed to be a gathering of our collective wisdom and experiences from the Lenten season. Join us to unite with other Catholic men as we explore how to apply our newfound insights in the days to come. Don't miss out—secure your tickets today!
The best way for men to attend is from your personal invitation!
As you register for the Men's Forum, we invite you to thoughtfully consider supporting the CMCS Lenten Almsgiving Matching Gift Opportunity, alongside your ticket purchase ....
During Lent, we are asked to focus more intently on "almsgiving," which means donating money or goods to the poor and performing other acts of charity. As one of the three pillars of Lenten practice, almsgiving is "a witness to fraternal charity" and "a work of justice pleasing to God." (Catechism of the Catholic Church, no. 2462). |

|
"By drawing close to others through almsgiving, we draw close to God; it can become an instrument for authentic conversion and reconciliation with Him and our brothers."
~ Pope Benedict XVI

.... An anonymous benefactor from CMCS, who strongly believes in the significance of sacrifice and generosity, has generously committed to match all donations up to $800.00 made to Catholic Men Chicago Southland from Ash Wednesday through Divine Mercy Sunday. This means that every dollar you contribute will be effectively doubled!
This campaign accounts for more than half of our annual budget, and this year, we face additional costs due to the appointment of Auxiliary Bishop Mark Bartosic to oversee Vicariate VI, as CMCS is now his apostolate. Consequently, we will need to update our prayer cards and materials, as well as revamp our blog and website to align with his vision for CMCS. Furthermore, we need to upgrade our computers and technology to remain current.
Let’s make this Lenten Season a time of giving, fasting, and prayerful unity as we come together to support our vital mission of
'Living the Goodness of a Catholic Man'. Keep in mind that CMCS is fully funded by donors like you, ensuring essential stability for our apostolate. Our dedicated CMCS Team works on a volunteer basis—no one receives a salary.
Thank you very much!!
With gratitude, |
