A Message from the Director

On behalf of Bishop Joseph Perry and the CMCS-Team,  I Need Your Help.

It's time for the CMCS Fall Appeal.

When I co-founded Catholic Men Chicago Southland it was to host an annual event for men, known then as the Bishop Perry's Men's Prayer Breakfast, as the best entry point for a man to nurture his spirituality that it could possibly be in the Chicago Southland, if not Archdiocese of Chicago.

The past sixteen years has been an enlightening and meaningful ride!

Now I need your help with prayers and financial support like never before, because we see a new growth for this apostolate like never before. And, as well, I'm going to share in a moment how we can pray for you too!

The mission of Catholic Men Chicago Southland (CMCS) fosters Catholic Men in personal holiness, to make Jesus Christ the center of our daily lives.   Our goal is to give men the spirituality they need to live their daily lives better, and keep them Catholic and Christian.

CMCS relies on the support of loyal individuals and readers like you to keep providing encouragement and support for our motto of “Living the Goodness of a Catholic Man”, with resources that give freely without a subscription or paywal, all pointing to our annual Men's Forum.

Make a donation today at CMCSMen.net

For example, just $5.00 a month, or $60.00 a year, from everyone reading this would make a tremendous impact and enable us to keep helping men on their spiritual journey. It’s all part of the New Evangelization.

And, again, to make a donation go to our website at CMCSMen.net and look for the donate button.

Thank you very much!

To listen to this message, and to make a private prayer request for the CMS-Team and Bishop Perry to pray for you, call our new prayer line:
Phone Number: (641) 715-3900
Extension: 523082#

Thank you!
May God reward you for what you do for us!

From Today's Readings:

Monday of the Twenty-seventh Week in Ordinary Time

Alleluia   JN 13:34

R. Alleluia, alleluia.
I give you a new commandment:
love one another as I have loved you.
R. Alleluia, alleluia.

* [13:34] I give you a new commandment: this puts Jesus on a par with Yahweh. The commandment itself is not new.

2228: “Parents’ respect and affection are expressed by the care and attention they devote to bringing up their young children and providing for their physical and spiritual needs. As the children grow up, the same respect and devotion lead parents to educate them in the right use of their reason and freedom.” …. 2227: “Children in turn contribute to the growth in holiness of their parents. Each and everyone should be generous and tireless in forgiving one another for offenses, quarrels, injustices, and neglect. Mutual affection suggests this. The charity of Christ demands it.”

CCC 2227 – 2228

"By his actions, the Good Samaritan showed that the existence of each and every individual is deeply tied to that of others: life is not simply time that passes; life is a time for interactions."
