Your weekly dose of "Living the Goodness of a Catholic Man".

From Today's Readings:

Alleluia Mk 10:45

R. Alleluia, alleluia.
The Son of Man came to serve
and to give his life as a ransom for many.
R. Alleluia, alleluia.

One who denies Jesus in order to save one’s earthly life will be condemned to everlasting destruction; loss of earthly life for Jesus’ sake will be rewarded by everlasting life in the kingdom.

If you have read any of the books by author Gary Chapman, then you know about the 5 Love Languages: Quality Time, Gifts, Words of Affirmation, Acts of Service, and Physical Touch.  He says all of us have one of these as our main love language.

If you, or your wife, have Acts of Service as your Love Language, then the person doing the ‘serving’ can say “I love you” all they want and it will mean nothing without sincere acts of service.

Service is the key to Jesus’s language. Because He first exampled it. And when Jesus served others, he did not have them meet some qualifying standard. He served others while they were still sinners!

Thus when we serve others through His love, without seeking our own benefit, He rewards us in the kingdom.

Thanks for Reading.

Make it a great week. See you in your inbox again next Monday.

“Prayer is to our soul what rain is to the soil. Fertilize the soil ever so richly, it will remain barren unless fed by frequent rains.”
