Despite significant reduction in smoking among the population, lung cancer is still the leading cause of cancer deaths in both men and women in the United States. Early detection of and natural therapies for lung cancer – whether singly or in combination with conventional cancer treatments – may make a significant difference.

SOME EARLY MARKERS OF LUNG DISEASE/CANCER
Nail clubbing on opaque nails with a chronic dry cough can signal lung cancer (Figure 1)
Studies show that nail clubbing is associated with many lung diseases such as mesothelioma, pleural tumors and bronchogeneic carcinoma.* If you are showing this sign and have opaque nails as well as a chronic dry cough, you may have a high chance for lung cancer.

Soft, light-colored hair that grow on the cheeks in adults (Figure 2)
A less common sign is the sudden growth of soft, light-colored baby hair on the cheeks. This may also signify colon cancer risk.
If you have these markers and symptoms, and especially if you also notice that you don't have lunulae except on the thumbs, you should take steps to correct the problem immediately, such as in this case.

Case Report: Early Detection and Supplements Make a Difference
A. E., a 52‐year‐old male from California, was a heavy smoker. In 2006, Dr. Chi warned him of his risk for lung cancer. He was already showing early markers of the disease: All his nails were very opaque with slight clubbing. His tongue had a dry and yellowish-white coating. Two years later, in late 2008, he was indeed diagnosed with lung cancer. He had a 7cm tumor in the upper left lobe of his lung. The doctors couldn’t operate immediately because of the size and location of the tumor. He immediately took Angiostop, Revivin, Reishi Spore Extract and Asparagus Extract while undergoing chemotherapy and radiation. After 6 months, his tumor reduced to less than 1cm in diameter. It was then surgically removed. After that he underwent radiation and took Tarceva, still continuing with the supplements. Now, more than 6 years later, he is still doing well with no recurrence. ANGIOSTOP (SEA CUCUMBER) PROVES BENEFICIAL FOR LUNG CANCER
In A.E.’s case above, taking Angiostop prior to surgery made a huge difference in the outcome. Angiostop helped shrink the tumor enough so that the doctors could operate. It also reduces the chance of recurrence after surgery.
We also share the following story of a cancer patient who wished she took Angiostop before it was too late.
L. S., 63 y/o/f from CA, found out she had breast cancer in November 2013. Angiostop was recommended to her before her double mastectomy but she didn’t take it. She underwent chemotherapy after the surgery but had side effects (nausea, peripheral numbness). In July 2014, she reported that the cancer has recurred and metastasized to her thymus. She did start taking Angiostop and the other supplements in October but the thymus tumor had already gotten larger by that time. In January 2015, before she passed away, she expressed her regret in not taking the supplements right away. She felt that Angiostop could have really helped her.
For decades, Angiostop (Sea cucumber) has been extensively researched for its anti-cancer properties. We have presented many of its mechanisms for cancer in previous issues of the Chi Health Letter .
Angiostop blocks angiogenesis, which makes it very effective for starving solid tumors like lung cancer. And, when taken before and after lung cancer surgery, Angiostop may help reduce the risk of recurrence. Furthermore, Angiostop inhibits 4 different growth factor receptors – VEGFR, EGFR, PDGFR and FGFR – which are all expressed in lung cancer. Many drugs only inhibit one or two growth factors that’s why their effect is limited. Tarceva, for example, is an EGFR inhibitor for lung cancer. While it is effective, resistance develops after 9 months. Because Angiostop inhibits 4 different growth factors, it has a broad-spectrum effect.
Doctors at Sanoviv Medical Institute rave about Angiostop’s effect on their cancer patients. For lung cancer patients, in particular, they reported that Angiostop reduced the lung tumor mass by as much as 60%!
It is no surprise then that many lung cancer patients reported such good results with Angiostop and the other supplements.

Estrogen and Lung Cancer
Estrogen may also play a role in lung cancer. Studies show that lung carcinomas have estrogen receptors. Furthermore, cigarette smoke stimulates metabolism of estradiol into carcinogenic metabolites, promoting cell proliferation and tumor growth. For this reason, Myomin is typically recommended with Angiostop with the other supplements.

CASE REPORTS
CASE 1: A 60 year-old-female with lung cancer started taking Angiostop, Revivin and Myomin in September 2014. Her cancer markers, including CEA, which is a marker for lung cancer, were high at that time. A month later, she added Tarceva. Not long after that, in November 2014, her cancer markers have already reduced. Four months after she started the supplements, her cancer markers have reduced significantly (Table 1).
CASE 2: Antoine E., a 58 y/o/m from FL, had . He underwent surgery, chemo and radiation but it recurred as Stage 4 inoperable lung cancer and was given 6 months to live. In April 2011, he started Angiostop (12 capsules), Revivin, Reishi Spore, Asparagus, Myomin and Oxypower. By March 2013, he was declared on remission, his cancer has cleared! CASE 3: A. Sayler, CN from Florida, has a 79‐year‐old female patient first diagnosed with lung cancer in 1998. She had her upper left lung lobe removed and underwent chemotherapy and radiation after that. In 2012, her cancer marker, CEA, increased to over 6.1 and there were masses in both left and right lobes of the lungs.
So in October 2012, she started taking Angiostop, Revivin, Myomin and OxyPower. In January 2013, a CT scan showed that the nodule in her upper right lobe measured 2.4x1.8cm, a reduction from her previous scan. A previously seen mass in the right upper lobe and left lower lobe nodules were less evident. Her oncologist wanted a biopsy but her pulmonologist said no to the biopsy because her upper right lobe could be punctured. She continued taking the supplements. By March 2014, a PET/CT scan showed the nodule has reduced to 1 x 1.8cm (Table 2). Her maximum Standard Uptake Value (SUV) has also reduced from 3.4 to 1.9. The SUV is inversely proportional to a cancer patient’s prognosis. When her pulmonologist, Dr. Mark A. Smith, saw her PET scan, he was very happy saying, “This is wonderful and your lung is clear for the first time ever.” Dr. Rafael Blanco, her oncologist, commented when he read her PET scan, “Your PET scan is A+.” Her phone number is (813) 253-3040.
