Check your C-Reactive Protein and Homocysteine for Cardiovascular Problems
CHI HEALTH LETTER May 22, 2015

Featured Story

R. K., a male in his 70s, first met Dr. Chi in Florida 6 years ago, then in New York four years ago and then recently in California. All three times he told him the same thing about this health: he may have a cardiovascular problem, a lung problem and estrogen dominance, particularly a prostate issue. Four years ago, he had 2 cherry angiomas on his forehead. Now he has 5 cherry angiomas. His nails have a grayish tint, are a little bit opaque and are slightly clubbing. When he went to his doctor for a test, he was told that he had 60% blockage in his arteries and they need to put 7 stents. His C-Reactive Protein (CRP) was very high at 73 (he also has arthritis). And, although he wasn’t told about it, his test results showed he has a 4.5mm lung nodule. His doctor was only focused on the stents; he did not even address the lung nodule and the possibility of it developing into lung cancer. All of these confirm Dr. Chi’s early findings of a heart and lung problem.

Cardiovascular Markers to Look For

If you have some of the following markers (Figure 1), check your CRP right away. If CRP is high, also check the homocysteine level. Homocysteine is an amino acid that promotes hardening of the arteries. You can also check your lipoprotein and apolipoprotein B levels. These can help determine the risk for cardiovascular disease.

A. Cherry angiomas on forehead
B. Ear crease
C. Lunula on the pinkies
D. Lack of or no lunulae
E. Nail clubbing

These markers indicate a cardiovascular issue and need to be addressed right away. Just like in the featured story above, R.K. had cherry angiomas and nail clubbing and, true enough, his CRP was high and he had 60% blockage in his arteries. So do not ignore these signs as these can help you make a plan of action early and possibly avoid future problems.

I. Lelchuk, MD from New York, shared the following cases to reinforce the importance of watching for early markers:

• A male patient in his 60s came in and presented with cherry angiomas on the forehead, ear crease, lunulae on his pinkies, and nail clubbing. He was told of his risk for high CRP and heart disease/stroke. He revealed that his CRP is 3.0.

• A 46-year-old male patient always felt irritable and had more than two of the markers above. He later found that his CRP is 10 and homocysteine level is 16. He immediately wanted to start treatment.

• A 50-year-old female patient also had at least two of the symptoms above. Her test results showed her CRP is high at 13.2, her cholesterol is 216 and her lipoprotein is 144 (normal <100 mg/dL).

M. Renaud, AP from Florida, has a 55-year-old female patient with 2 cherry angiomas on the forehead. She reveals that her CRP is 2.5 and her homocysteine level is 11. A CRP between 1 and 3 already signifies an average risk for cardiovascular disease. A CRP under 1 is better. Ideally, homocysteine should be under 6.

All the test results of Dr. Lelchuk’s and Dr. Renaud’s patients confirm the existing cardiovascular risks of the patients. This stresses the importance of watching for these early markers in order to determine cardiovascular problems and then performing a blood test for confirmation, if needed.

So if you see some of the markers in Figure 1, check your CRP right away. CRP is an indication of inflammation, which is strongly associated with many conditions, most especially heart disease, COPD/asthma, diabetes, dementia, autoimmune disease and even cancer (Figure 2). Also check homocysteine level if CRP is high.

Once you determine your risk, you can take action to lower that risk by either lifestyle changes or taking supplements like OxyPower and Vein Lite for lowering CRP. If homocysteine is high, add Asparagus Extract.

OXYPOWER for reducing C-Reactive Protein and Inflammation

CRP increases when there is inflammation, which is the body’s natural defense mechanism against infections, trauma, etc. Once these are resolved, CRP and inflammation typically recede. However, when CRP becomes chronically elevated, more serious problems can occur. Seven out of the ten leading causes of mortality in United States are linked to chronic inflammation: heart disease, cancer, chronic respiratory disease, stroke, Alzheimer's disease, diabetes and nephritis (see Figure 2).

OxyPower contains herbs that can naturally and effectively reduce CRP and inflammation. In vivo and many clinical case reports have demonstrated how effective it has been in doing such

In an in vivo study, for example, OxyPower reduced inflammation within 7 days in the coronary artery and heart muscle tissue. OxyPower reduced endothelial swelling in the coronary artery even much more effectively than CoQ10 (Figure 3). This is very important because inflammation can lead endothelial cells to break, causing scars and plaque.

Furthermore, OxyPower significantly reduced inflammation in heart muscle tissue (seen as white areas), again much better than CoQ10 (Figure 4).

The implication of this study is that OxyPower is not only applicable to cardiovascular disease but other conditions involving chronic inflammation as well (Figure 2).

Case Reports

A. Sayler, CN from Florida, has a 50 y/o/m patient who took OxyPower. After 1 year, his CRP reduced from 4 to 0.7.

P. Minkoff, MD from Florida has a 51-year-old female patient with a high CRP level. After three months on OxyPower, her CRP reduced to within normal range.

G. Depke, ND from California, has a 67-year-old female patient with ischemia and high CRP. After taking OxyPower for almost 4 months, her CRP level reduced to 1.7, within the normal range.

Check CRP and Homocysteine if You Have The Physical Markers

So anytime you see some of the following markers, check your CRP right away as this can alert you to possible inflammation. If the CRP is high, also check your homocysteine level. A CRP between 1 and 3 already signifies an average risk for cardiovascular disease. A CRP under 1 is better. Ideally, homocysteine should be under 6.

  • Cherry angiomas
  • Ear crease
  • Lunulae on the pinkies
  • Lack of lunulae
  • Nail clubbing

Start taking OxyPower and Vein Lite to reduce your CRP and your risk for heart disease, COPD/asthma, diabetes, dementia, autoimmune disease and even cancer. If homocysteine is high, take Asparagus Extract as well.
