The Equity Office logo and tagline
Good morning Equity Action Team,

I know we dropped a lot on your inboxes on Monday with that big update, so I'm going to keep it very to the point this time. We look forward to seeing you all on Friday!
January Equity Action Team Meeting

The January Equity Action Team meeting will be held Friday, January 15th, from 11:00 AM-2:30 PM. The meeting shifted back an hour due to a recurring conflict for our Office on Friday mornings.

The participation details are below, should be available on the Eventbrite if you registered, and will go out the morning of the meeting! On the Agenda we'll have a presentation from APH on the COVID-19 vaccine distribution plan, as well as a discussion of the APD Equity Assessment reports you read about on Monday.

As a note, I heard from many of you that there were issues with accessing the Zoom link. When you receive a message that "only authorized users are allowed" all you need to do is log into a Zoom or Google account and it should let you in. I know this presents a barrier, but we're trying to balance access while also holding the space for you all to feel safe and secure.

The Immigrant Legal Resource Center has partnered with Latino Justice to host Abriendo Corazones- Essential Abolitionist Conversations study group. Last summer’s uprising showed how much conversation space and collective learning is needed in Texas, especially in immigrant rights spaces where anti-blackness and reformist approaches can be challenging.

We’re excited to invite Texas organizers to join these exciting sessions starting Tuesday, January 19th. See details and registration information here.

Local organizer and multi-disciplinary artist Daniel Llanes invites you to join him for a night of musical performance on Sunday, January 17th at 7:00 PM. He'll be joined by James Fenner and Carmen Llanes Pulido.

The event will be livestreamed on Youtube, you can subscribe to see all his events and watch here.
