Good afternoon Equity Action Team,
Just a quick, brief update today. There may be something more going out later this week. I'm still waiting to get some of the stuff from the ACC presentation, as well as collect and summarize the questions and conversation about the Project Connect work. However, there are a couple of items that are time-pressing, so I wanted to get something out sooner than later, and we hope to have something more comprehensive as a follow up and next steps on the Project Connect piece later. |

January Equity Action Team Meeting
The January Equity Action Team meeting will be held Friday, January 15th, from 11:00 AM-2:30 PM. The meeting shifted back an hour due to a recurring conflict for our Office on Friday mornings.

This year has taken a lot of people from us, and honoring and calling in their spirits is more important than ever. The struggle for equity and justice now is only possible because of ancestors like Paul who fought to hold our City and institutions to account, and to directly confront white supremacy. |

Define American is now accepting applications for the 2021 Creative Fellowship.
This fellowship supports immigrant creatives working in narrative art forms as they build their professional practice and network.
The Define American Creative Fellowship is open to creatives in narrative-oriented art forms (writing, filmmaking, visual storytelling, theater, illustration, spoken word, digital journalism, etc.) with at least some experience (professional or amateur) in their chosen medium.

Dream Summer Fellowship
Dream Summer is an annual national fellowship of the UCLA Labor Center’s Dream Resource Center (DRC).
Fellows are placed within social justice-based host organizations and work closely with their host organization to incorporate and strengthen the role of immigrant rights issues alongside the organization’s social justice work. Over the summer, fellows engage and lead social justice efforts by aligning the call for immigrant rights alongside the unique challenges across many intersections of oppression.
