September 9th was the official kickoff for Welcoming Week, a time when organizations and communities bring together people of all backgrounds to build strong connections and affirm the importance of welcoming and inclusive places in achieving collective propserity. This year's theme is Belonging Begins With Us, a call to action and a reminder that each and every one of us has the power to help create the communities we need by working in solidarity with others. Read Our New Report: Advancing Immigrant Incorporation in Austin, TX
The City of Austin’s Equity Office partnered with Dr. Ruth Wasem and her Immigrant Incorporation Team from the LBJ School of Public Affairs to produce a report about advancing immigrant incorporation in the City of Austin. Dr. Wasem previously produced similar reports for the City of Dallas and the City of San Antonio. Read the report here. |

Celebrate Citizenship Day!
Thanks to the leadership of Austin Public Library and with the support of Austin Public Health and USCIS, the City was able to host naturalization ceremonies this summer.
