Give Input on Equity Office's Incoming Chief Equity Officer!
Last year, our City’s first Chief Equity Officer, Brion Oaks, announced he was leaving the City of Austin to pursue an exciting new career opportunity. The City Manager’s Office is committed to conducting a robust national search to permanently fill this critical position in our organization and the community we serve. The Equity Office guides our organization and ensures we are looking at all matters from a lens that includes diversity, equity, and inclusion, which improves and provides a better quality of life for every Austinite.
Identifying the right person to fill this important role is a priority.
Community engagement is instrumental in our process and will be included at multiple steps in the recruitment process. The City is requesting your feedback via survey to aid in determining candidates to bring forward for interview.
Give Input to Transportation on How Downtown Streets Should Look!
Downtown Austin is a space for everyone. As the center of town, it is important that we all have equitable access to the area, and we can all safely move within the neighborhoods. In light of the major I-35 and Project Connect projects coming to Downtown, the Austin Core Transportation will look at the limited space we have downtown and make recommendations on how to redesign our streets in light of these projects. The ACT Plan has released a Virtual Open House and Survey (available in multiple languages via Google Translate) to lead this discussion. The Virtual Open House and Survey will be open through March 2023. Learn more about the project on the ACT Plan website.
