This Trauma-Informed Care training will empower both medical and mental health providers to identify human trafficking in the healthcare setting and respond in an effective, grounded, compassionate, trauma-sensitive manner. Learners will walk away from this two-hour training with skills to empower identification, prevention, and support, for persons impacted by this heinous crime against persons.

Cultivating Fathers is an innovative 8-week program designed to help fathers and father figures with the necessary tools to become responsible parents, who nurture healthy relationships with their children.
This program provides: Parenting, Life Skills, Healthy Relationships, Mental Health, Financial Literacy, Visitation Access, Career Development and more. For 8 weeks, participants attend in-person twice a week for 2 hours and dinner will be provided. Graduation upon completion of the program graduation.

Apply for a Food Justice Mini Grant
To support communities in their efforts to grow, sell, and eat healthy food, the City of Austin’s Office of Sustainability is now accepting applications for the Food Justice Mini Grants program. The program offers grants of up to $3,000 to support community-driven solutions led by those most negatively impacted by the food system. The grant was launched in solidarity with celebrations around the Juneteenth holiday, which commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African-Americans in the US.
Non-profits, schools, for-profit businesses, homeowner associations, faith-based groups, grassroots initiatives, and more are eligible to apply for a grant. Examples of funding projects could include:
- Innovative food production methods
- Fresh food markets or affordable food retail
- Workforce development in the food supply chain
- Low-cost home meal or grocery delivery services
- Community events centered on food systems or food justice
Last year, the City funded 20 organizations working on projects ranging from community-based “free fridges” to gardening workshops led by and for people of color. Any applicant that shares an intersectional lens and wants to build food justice in Austin is encouraged to apply.

The purpose of this Temporary – Nature-Based Program Coordinator position increase capacity of the Cities Connecting Children to Nature ( CCCN) initiative, whose goal is to equitably connect children to nature, primarily through the Green School Parks and Nature Play strategies.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in increasing nature-based opportunities (programming, infrastructure, professional development) at parks and schools;
- Facilitate community engagement around nature-based infrastructure and programming;
- Expand Watershed Protection Department programming as it relates to the Green School Parks program and help communicate the importance of Watershed’s mission through action-oriented engagement with those communities;
- Coordinate community-initiated stewardship projects and park improvement proposals;
- Assist in aligning CCCN goals with larger city-wide efforts including Strategic Direction 2023, Climate Equity Plan, and PARD Long Range Plan.
City of Austin's Vision Zero Team is hiring!
Program Manager II:
This person will be responsible for developing and leading a broad range of programs within the Vision Zero portfolio to help move our community forward towards safer streets for all roadway users. One example of a program is implementing our High-Injury Roadways initiative, coordinating various engineering teams and other departmental staff to review specific roadway segments with a high concentration of severe crashes. This will include crash analysis, identification of systemic safety countermeasures, managing the program budget to deliver high quality outcomes, and evaluating the impacts of those investments over time. Other potential initiatives this person might work on include leading Vision Zero’s monthly Fatality Review Board meetings, developing proposals for traffic safety grants and implementing funded programs/projects, and leading data evaluation and research on completed projects.
Temp - Business Process Specialist:
This person will help us address a core element of the overall safe systems approach of Austin’s Vision Zero program: data evaluation and analysis. Significant program decisions depend on high quality data analysis to inform our initiatives and collaborations with other key agencies. We hope to find someone to work 30-40 hours per week and help us make progress in our ongoing deep dive analysis on car crashes involving pedestrians and cyclists. This role will be in place through the end of the calendar year and could continue in 2023; this may be a good fit for someone who wants a flexible schedule and hopes to balance a new role on a topic they are passionate about with other employment.

The Utility Conservation Technician (2 positions) is responsible for performing regular building surveys/audit walk-throughs to check for program compliance issues and look for additional energy and water conservation opportunities as guided by the Energy and Water Manager and the Energy Conservation Specialist. The technician will use specialized software to record various instances of faculty and staff participation in the program. The technician will visit each AISD campus a minimum of three times during the school year and will reÂspond to targeted site visits as directed.
The City of Austin is currently accepting applications for a Public Health Educator II position in the Chronic Disease and Injury Prevention Program. This position works to improve physical activity, healthy nutrition, and other factors by various population-based approaches. This position also works across sections with partners to promote built improvements for active transportation as well as participating in the Pedestrian Advisory Council and Bicycle Advisory council. Additionally, this position conducts needs assessments and environmental scans in addition to coordinating the Walk Texas and More Challenge. Application deadline is June 27th.
Youth Rise Texas, an Austin, Texas based non-profit organization seeks its next Co-Executive Director to continue to execute and grow its strategic plan. Reporting to, and working in close collaboration with the Executive Director, the Associate Director will help build a solid foundation for allgo to expand and deepen its programming to ensure the fulfillment of allgo’s mission. The Austin Civilian Conservation Corps (ACCC) is an initiative with the City of Austin and American YouthWorks that provides on-the-job training opportunities for individuals impacted by COVID-19 while contributing to the health and sustainability of Austin’s natural environment. Earn $15–$17/hour and get health insurance. No experience is needed and all skill levels are encouraged to apply. Uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment will be provided.
