Our Juneteenth market will be in partnership with George Washington Carver Museum's Annual Juneteenth Event! Featuring music, food, performances and 30+ Black businesses and creatives. This event is outdoors, in-person and free to attend!

Climate change impacts all of us, but the impacts aren’t felt equally across our communities. The Community Climate Ambassadors program looks to center the voices of people who have been systematically left out of, misrepresented in, or ignored during climate change conversations.
Through a six-month paid program, Community Climate Ambassadors will learn about environmental justice, plan community-based projects, and collaborate with others to move towards positive change. We highly encourage organizations and engaged community members representing low-income communities and communities of color to apply.

Fill Out A Paid Survey & Attend A Paid Focus Group!
FSG, a non-profit consulting firm, is currently studying the racial wealth gap in Austin in partnership with the city’s Equity Office. FSG is looking to hear perspectives from BIPOC renters, recent home buyers, and entrepreneurs in the city.
To do so, FSG is hosting a focus group for renters, people experiencing housing instability, and recent homebuyers on June 22, 2022, at 6-8 pm CST. They are also hosting a focus group with BIPOC entrepreneurs on June 23, 2022, at 6-8 pm CST. The participants of each focus group will receive a $100 gift card for their participation.
FSG also asks that you complete this 20-minute survey by June 23, 2022. The first 75 people to complete the survey will receive a $15 gift card, and everyone who completes the survey will be entered in a raffle for a $100 gift card.

Attend a PODER Meeting!
Attnend a community meeting with PODER and Tesla happening on June 28th, 2022 6 pm at the Travis County Community Center (3518 FM 973, Del Valle TX 78617). Our goal for the meeting is to center the voices of residents living near Tesla in addition to having council members, county commissioners, city staff, and environmental groups present in solidarity & to learn more about the issue.
Join Lambda Legal for a Free Name Change Training!
Please join us for our next free 1.5 hour CLE/Training/Educational Program that will describe the history, background and how to handle a pro se name and gender marker correction case for you or your clients, as well as how to how to revise identity documents after you have obtained a court order. The 1.5 CLE includes .5 hours of ethics.
Please share this and the upcoming dates widely with your colleagues, friends, and family. Attendees DO NOT have to be lawyers, we will be describing the process for representing yourself in court proceedings to change your name and/or correct your gender.

Apply for a Food Justice Mini Grant
To support communities in their efforts to grow, sell, and eat healthy food, the City of Austin’s Office of Sustainability is now accepting applications for the Food Justice Mini Grants program. The program offers grants of up to $3,000 to support community-driven solutions led by those most negatively impacted by the food system. The grant was launched in solidarity with celebrations around the Juneteenth holiday, which commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African-Americans in the US.
Non-profits, schools, for-profit businesses, homeowner associations, faith-based groups, grassroots initiatives, and more are eligible to apply for a grant. Examples of funding projects could include:
- Innovative food production methods
- Fresh food markets or affordable food retail
- Workforce development in the food supply chain
- Low-cost home meal or grocery delivery services
- Community events centered on food systems or food justice
Last year, the City funded 20 organizations working on projects ranging from community-based “free fridges” to gardening workshops led by and for people of color. Any applicant that shares an intersectional lens and wants to build food justice in Austin is encouraged to apply.

$20 million of Project Connect Anti-Displacement Funding is now available to support programs that benefit residents who live within one mile of Project Connect lines and stations in areas facing risk of displacement.
Nonprofit organizations and partnerships are invited to propose applications for a range of investments that stabilize tenants and homeowners and build economic mobility.

AISD is hiring!
The Energy Conservation Specialist at the Services Center is responsible for monitoring the Building Automation ÂÂSystem (BAS) and Energy Management System (EMS). Reviews HVAC equipment operations, cooling/heating set-points, and run-time schedules. Continues the successful implementation of the new enterprise BAS for all AISD facilities. Provides feedback and recommendations for the continuous improvement of AISD BAS, EMS usage, and Energy Management scheduling procedures. This position will work in conjunction with the Energy & Water Conservation Team, HVAC department, and Operations team to coordinate and implement activities to reduce utility use and cost.
The Utility Conservation Technician (2 positions) is responsible for performing regular building surveys/audit walk-throughs to check for program compliance issues and look for additional energy and water conservation opportunities as guided by the Energy and Water Manager and the Energy Conservation Specialist. The technician will use specialized software to record various instances of faculty and staff participation in the program. The technician will visit each AISD campus a minimum of three times during the school year and will reÂspond to targeted site visits as directed.
The City of Austin is currently accepting applications for a Public Health Educator II position in the Chronic Disease and Injury Prevention Program. This position works to improve physical activity, healthy nutrition, and other factors by various population-based approaches. This position also works across sections with partners to promote built improvements for active transportation as well as participating in the Pedestrian Advisory Council and Bicycle Advisory council. Additionally, this position conducts needs assessments and environmental scans in addition to coordinating the Walk Texas and More Challenge. Application deadline is June 27th.
Youth Rise Texas, an Austin, Texas based non-profit organization seeks its next Co-Executive Director to continue to execute and grow its strategic plan. Over the next 5 years the organization will pursue many goals. The Co-ED will work closely with their fellow Co-ED as a partner but will fully own a body of work.
