ANNOUNCEMENTS
The Equity Office is relaunching our Equity Action Team meetings!

With the relaunch, we are recommitting ourselves to maintaining this space as one that centers the voices, experiences, and needs of directly impacted community members.

Our hope is that with this first meeting, we can agree on the collective vision of the EAT and decide on a set of community agreements to make this a safe and brave space for all.

The first of this year is on March 26th 2022 at 10 am. Click here to register on Zoom.

The first Art in Public Places application period features eight public art projects totaling over $700,000. Austin’s public art investments create jobs, not only for the commissioned artists, but also for subcontractors such as engineers, architects, fabricators, installers, materials vendors, lighting experts, and other professionals.

Artists can apply February 1 - March 31 for the artwork commissions, which range from $30,000 to $169,000. Apply for these artist opportunities and attend information sessions.

A part of Project Connect’s Anti-Displacement initiatives, this program provides zero-percent interest forgivable and non-forgivable loans to eligible non-profit organizations for the acquisition of property that increases the supply of affordable housing. Loans are available on a rolling basis until available program funds are exhausted.

As Project Connect advances the Blue and Orange Line light rail projects, Capital Metro has a once-in-a-generation opportunity to maximize this significant public transit investment and, together with the City of Austin, set a bold, community-led vision for the future. This vision allows us to work with residents, small businesses, and organizations to explore Equitable Transit-Oriented Development (ETOD) strategies along with the Blue and Orange Lines to create inclusive, vibrant, and accessible communities that integrate residential, business, and public space all within walking distance of transit stations.

The Austin Parks Foundation is conducting a survey focused on how people find information about their parks in Austin. They'd like community input as they revamp their parks database. The survey below should only take a few minutes, but the information you provide will be invaluable as they work to make the parks database more user friendly and easier to navigate.
The PRIDE Health Lab is currently recruiting transgender and gender diverse individuals from across Texas to attend a paid event (via $50 gift card) to share their opinions and feelings about long-acting forms of PrEP (Pre-exposure prophylaxis for HIV prevention).

They are particularly hoping to recruit Black trans and gender diverse individuals for their study. Here is the link to the survey for folks who are interested.
