Marathon Dreams Come True

CYA is proud to congratulate all its students who participated in last weekend’s 35th Athens Authentic Marathon. The spectacular annual event, which takes place right across from the CYA Academic Center, draws thousands of spectators and participants from around the globe determined to face the grueling course and realize their dream of completing the original race. It is truly inspirational to watch runners cross the finish line having achieved such an incredible feat.

In a wonderful blog written by Alexa Palomo CYA fall ’17 student, she asks CYA students about their personal incentives for running this year’s Athens Marathon, how they prepared and how they felt after crossing the finish line, including photographs and an interview with CYA’s marathon patron Nadia Melinioti (Executive Director of Student Affairs). Read the full story here: “A Journey, Not a Race.

CYA Students Answer Questions about Study Abroad

In support of last week’s International Education Week(IEW) celebrations, CYA shared videos across social media featuring important questions about study abroad answered by our students in Greece now. The videos present an authentic student perspective, familiar to current and former students, and helpful to future students looking to study abroad. We encourage our Study Abroad partners to share the videos with their institutional pages and any students interested in study abroad. Take a look at the wonderful videos here: "What is Study Abroad Really Like? - Student Perspectives"

Optional trips: Semester’s last but not least, Cyprus!

CYA students recently embarked on the third and final optional trip for fall semester ’17 to Cyprus. The three-day trip to Cyprus was packed with learning and excitement. There was much to learn that was historical, archaeological, and political. Read about the sites students visited and take a look at photos from the trip in the " Cyprus Optional Trip" blog.
